Some times you just have to step back, scratch your head, have a pint of beer and a think. Can you change your approach, attack a different section of the problem or are you just tackling the wrong problem?

Trumpeter Swans Protecting their cygnet. I had to stumble down a pretty steep rocky embankment. This put the parents on high alert. I realized after getting into position that they were actually paddling towards me. At that same time I realized that there was no easy or quick way to get away if they decided to attack. So I sat very still hoping they would determine that I wasn't a threat. This image was taken as they decided that I wasn't going to be a problem, so they swam away. Whew!
During the night people come to this valley to watch the Elk Rut. By first light the road is completely lined with cars and trucks and people. This Bull Elk is trying to get through that line of people and get his herd to the Valley floor. Not an easy task.
Former Lucky Store located at 1991 Mountain Blvd. in Oakland,CA. Lucky closed this store in 1991 when a new store was built at 1963 Mountain Blvd. Once this store closed Payless Drug opened in the building. It has since become a Rite Aid which until recently kept all of the Payless decor. It now has a very nice interior which Rite Aid designed all on their own. If Rite Aid implemented this design soon after the Thrifty/Payless takeover I bet they wouldve done quite well here on the West Coast. The problem is its really too late for a change and the company is really on pins and needles and could crumble anyday now...
Here faced with a vintage photo, the old problem of : too many cars in Venice. Which has always gripped the splendid city of Venice.
We came back from our adventure to the coast a couple of day early. A tropical storm is potentially building in the gulf. For whatever reason, Hadley is bored and antsy, walking back and forth. An old fashioned method of occupying himself seems to be solving the problem.
I really cannot recall the last time I saw real cards in his hands but whatever works!

CHEF clabudak wants us to have fun with math and geometry!
➤ Your image must have an overall abstract quality
➤ It must include at least one human body part
➤ Also at least one geometrical shape
➤ And a mathematical or geometrical diagram and/or equation
➤ NO MONOTONES
Well, of course, I was wrong! I HAVE used math quite a bit in my lifetime. All the items pictured were from Pixabay. Text from Picsart.
you cannot always depend on their accuracy :-)

:V So troll.
Thanks to Eclipse because this wouldn't not be possible without his help LOL.
45. I'll most likely end up doing some sort of Scene or something that uses all 45 and it will be legit.
(I'm having big problems with Flickr this week. Can't seem to get comments to stick. Hope to catch up with everyone soon, when the gremlin is fixed.)
Damn these up loader errors, but the old uploader gets there in the end
The uploader link has now been changed to a cloud with an up arrow in it
Eddie was a great diver and had gotten himself out of tight spots before but this had to be one of the worse spots he'd ever been in...

Fellas, there are like 1/2 dozen threads on this topic. The culprit is Android mobile, and the best guess is that Android bots are just going through people's entire libraries. Probably copying every image as they go, but if you're pro and click through to the details of where your pics are coming from, safe bet it's mobile/Android.
Not that you'd ever learn that from someone authoritative like, say, Flickr support....

A man walks in the dank underbelly of Philadelphia, on his way to fix what no one else had the courage to.
Part of a series of images I hope to collect these next few months.
are you here to make your confession, my son?
yes, father. it's my first time. I'm not sure if I can do it.
of course you can. what are your sins, my son?
you promise not to tell anyone?
you can rely on me. in fact, it's nothing personal at all. go ahead, ask me if I care.
you don't care?
whatever you did is definitely not my problem. no way. isn't that comforting?
somehow it's not exactly what I thought.
you see? I knew I could put your mind at ease.
yeah. something like that.

British Railways Standard 9F 2-10-0 92203 Black Prince on the 12.50 non-stop Loughborough to Leicester service train. Roger beams from the cab window as well he should being given a chance on the regulator by Big Al.
I fired this loco the day before and at this point the boiler pressure was telling me that I had not properly filled the back corners of that wide firebox! No such problem here as black smoke at the chimney shows all is well.
