week 4 milestone
So, the #20 Burnside bus has some problem with the way I live my life. Invariably when I take the 20 it is late or early -- whatever will cause me to be later. I was headed out the The Mountain Goats, which is a straight shot across the river on Burnside, and sure enough, the bus I was aiming for was a good 5 minutes early. Next bus: 28 minutes. So I went back home to continue pre-funking. The show was awesome, by the way. I didn't miss the Goats but I did miss the openers.
Oh yeah, before the beer(s), my brother and I invented a drink over IM. I was having a godfather (scotch and amaretto), and I mentioned that I have sweet vermouth and bitters but not bourbon. I wondered what the godfather would taste like with those added. Brother says, "Is that a fairy godfather? j/k" so then of course I had to do it, because that is such a good name for a drink. And it's good!
I give you the Fairy Godfather (measures are very approximate):
2 parts scotch
1 part amaretto
1 part sweet vermouth
dash or two of bitters
ideally, shaken with ice and strained, but you can just serve it on the rocks if you like (I did, but I imagine it'd be better shaken/strained like a Manhattan).
OK, so there was one problem with the torpedo cable package, the cable ends didn't fit the trigger shifter so I crimped a spare SA end onto the cable. It's not pretty, but it works.
I'm actually not that down on Dora - they're engaging books for toddlers, accessible and participatory - but man, there's a lot wrong with this picture.
Despite my best efforts, though, Maya somehow knows that it's "Swiper", not "sniper", so I haven't been able to get her to say "sniper, stop sniping!" with any consistency.

I bough an new Arduino Duemilanove that come with an extra resistor. This resistor need to be removed to Arduino serial works
Replaced a couple of shingles close to peak of the roof front side
Sealed the chimney and vent pipes, roof tune up
Placed fascia capping on
Reattached lower back right hand side gutter
There was a piece of flashing that was lifting some shingles in back lower part of chimney, nailed it down and sealed it.
The production problems and re-design of Operation Thunderbolt meant it still hadn't been released (1990) when this compilation appeared. The box and instructions show that it was an unexpectedly long delay.
