Biblical mural in the old prison. I don't thing this was a chapel, or only a chapel. It looked like it was set up as a mess hall.
The prison in Yuma opened in 1876 and was shut down in 1909 when a new prison was built in Florence. 3,069 inmates passed through the prison, 111 died while incarcerated, most died of tuberculosis. After closure parts of the prison were used as a high school, county hospital and hobos and homeless families occupied the cells during the Great Depression. In the late 1930's Yuma residents began efforts to preserve the prison. It became a museum and in the 1950's became an Arizona State Park. The grounds can be rented for weddings and other events. The venue is billed as: a romantic location with unforgettable scenery appropriate for casual ceremonies in an affordable outdoor setting.

Hegningarhúsið (The Penalty House) is the oldest prison in Iceland, founded in 1874. It was closed June 1, 2016 after 142 years of operation. The prison could house a total of 16 inmates. These photos are taken a few days after the last prisoner left.

KCC: Yes, but if I do nothing, it will capture more living things, make them prisoner, and kill them.
Po: You are concerned then with the fly, to which nature has given wings. That it may move about freely.
KCC: It is cruel to see it made a prisoner.
Po: Still you do not see. Which is truly the prisoner? The fly, which moving freely, enters unknown danger. Or the spider? Which having spun its web, remains. Never knowing the pleasure or the danger of the fly.

Finally I decided to surrender. A self execution.
I think I came to the last limit, there is nothing can done anymore.
I have the proper pride that it happen with my will, they couldn't catch me since 15 months. My lawyer and father we agreed on the surrender at 09/06/2020. I will be in the prison 1 week (I hope).
I feel like I'm going on a very different journey.

Extremely small cells, a bed,desk,washbasin,a toilet. A prison who had a few famous people,feared men (6) Karpis,Capone,George,Birdman,Roy Gardner and Frank Lee Morris. Built in 1934 and closed in 1963,
Interesting the escape of 3 prisoners the Anglin brothers and Frank Morris. Case closed with no guarantees that these 3 individuals ever made it to the main land....
