Not actually prison, but the bars would suggest otherwise. I converted to b&w and added some tinting (I'm starting to love the tint effect).

The Lorton prison, euphemistically know as "The Workhouse," has been shuttered and sold to a developer who is slowly turning this sad place into new housing, new offices, and places for children to play. Some get to play: some had to pay.
"Show me the prison
Show me the jail
Show me the prisoner
Whose life has gone stale
And I'll show you the young man
With some many reasons why
There but for fortune
Go you or I "

This could also be a picture of the state of my PC's operating system thanks to the latest Microsoft overnight software push. I'm using the term"operating" loosely since I'm running on a temporary account since the computer gods seem to have lost my actual account. : (( Won't be doing much until I can get this *little* problem fixed.

sur le blog Éléments du monde ordinaire, une histoire banale, une histoire que partagent la plupart des familles, ici et là, quoi qu’on en dise, une histoire qui mène trop souvent à la mort, qui envoie parfois en prison les assassins des mères.
prison (2970r1500nb)
This is in Eastern State Penitentiary a notorious prison known for inhumane treatment as basically when it opened in 1829 prisoners were in solitary confinement their entire sentence where they where never allowed to speak to other prisoners. The cells were small with only one person to each one with no windows and only a tiny skylight in the ceiling to allow sunlight in. If a prisoner broke rules they were very tiny punishment cells the size of closets and saw one of those personally when I toured the facility on top of beatings and housing down inmates even during the most coldest days of winter. Years of forced isolation drove many inmates into mental breakdowns. By the twentieth century the strict rules of isolation were lifted and prisoners were allowed to mix with each other and made to do work instead of spending very long hours in confinement. The there was one major escape in 1945 when the well known bank robber Willie Sutton and eleven other men escaped by digging a 97 foot tunnel. The prison was closed in 1971 and after years of bureaucratic debate it was opened as a Museum in 1994. In recent decades the museum has gained a strong reputation as being haunted after numerous alleged incidents of supernatural sightings.
