Decided to see what would happen if I pointed the camera at the sun using this particular mask. Massive over-exp[l]osive flaring is what happened, but Photoshop turned this into a kind of interesting image nonetheless.

Wenn ich Geld wie Heu hätte würde ich mir kein Pferd kaufen .. sondern dieses Auto .. 😎👍

If I had money like hay I wouldn't buy a horse... I would buy this car... 😎👍

Split prism of my Vivitar XV-2. I removed the lens and focused on the prism in the mirror, while shining blue and red bike LED lights through the viewfinder.

Kodak NEW PORTRA400

This week's Macro Mondays theme is Triangle(s). I had hoped to try and get the classic split of white light going through this prism paperweight, but it just wasn't happening. I think it's due to a coating on the glass; the light just wasn't getting through the prism at all. However, it did make for some interesting colours and shapes within the prism itself.

I ordered these for a treat for myself and they only arrived today about a month late with big chips in two of them and a small chip in the other, such a shame. (PS is a useful tool)

Prism formations can arise through geological processes. A long time ago a whole wall was formed in the low mountain range of the Rhoen.

A recent article in Outdoor Photographer by and about Gary Wagner interested me enough to buy his book. I like his philosophy and approach to black and white photography, and I’ve found it to be inspiring. He is very clear that his intent is to create art that is consistent with his vision, his interpretation of the scene. He focuses on the emotional and visual intent more than realistic representation. That appeals to me, and I have been looking at some of my older color work, seeing what I think might translate well to monochrome and processing those images. I’ll be posting quite a few in the future, but I’ll try to get some color images out there also.

I know black and white photography is not quite as popular on Flickr, but if you have taken the time to read this, chances are you like black and white. I usually do not ask for criticism, but if you are inclined, I would like to hear what you think I could do better with monochrome processing. I’m okay with what you think works, but I’m especially interested in what you think does not. I appreciate your time and input.
