Objective 3: Elements and Principles of Design
The principles of design demonstrated (describe the use):
Contrast - This picture creates contrast from the two different types of texture Soft(the metal and glass) and rough (the Sand)
The elements of design demonstrated (describe the use):
Line - The horizontal line gives this picture a feeling of clam.
Texture - The texture in the sand looks to be grainy rough and warm while if you look at the metal and the glass they look soft hard and cold
Objective 4: Lighting
Type of lighting and why: The lighting in this picture is hard direct lighting. This is because i was outside around noon when the sun is at its highest/hardest.
Objective 5: Post Production (Post production was done on my computer at home using photoshop CS6)
Corrections/adjustments made:
Brightness/Contrast - I Added contrast to the sand to make it darker and to help the shadows stand out more
Vibrance - I used vibrance to bring some of the colour back into the sand making it a more orangish brown then the grayish brown that it was
Levels - I used the Levels to brighten up the whole picture
Other - I used the spot healing brush tool to fix some of the glare that showing up in the sand no where near the glass. It acted more as a distraction rather then adding to the picture. I also resized and added my signature once I thought the picture was done
Objective 7: Photographic Styles
Type/style of photography: Still Life
The camera mode (P, Tv, Av, M): AV
f stop used: F 10
shutter speed used: 1/800 sec
ISO used: 200

www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NEOkyfzqxg
Jim Hall, the great jazz improviser, presents a jazz guitar master class for all guitarists. This DVD is unique because it not only provides a detailed approach to jazz improvisation by demonstrating techniques and musical theory, but it also allows students to find their own musical voices by showing possibilities based on Hall's musical experiences.
This DVD is designed for the newcomer to jazz guitar. It covers the fundamentals and basic concepts essential for jazz improvisation. Hall's master class was taped in an informal setting, with conversations and performances by Hall and New York City jazz guitarist Satoshi Inoue. Topics covered include: approach to basic blues * discovering jazz guitar * sounds of jazz guitar * fingering and picking * dynamics * motive development * II-V-I progressions * finding your own voice.
