In addition to the badly under lit photos I've posted, I'm including a screen shot from google sketchup, in which I finalized my plan for building my press. A few things changed during the actual construction, but this is pretty close to what now actually sits on top of my dryer.

The Cameradactyl M-Press 2x3 hand camera shown with a converted Mamiya RB67 back that has been altered to make it good for shooting 135 film in panoramic mode.
Graflex Crown Graphic Press Camera, along with its sister Speed Graphic camera were THE serious professional cameras of the 50's and early 60's. I bought one like this collection replacement one in college from a fellow photographer who found it in a pawn shop around 1960. It used 4 x 5 inch sheet film held either in two-sided sheet film holders or the coveted Grafmatic holder, which holds six sheets of film in one container. The sheets are held in individual steel widgets referred to as "septums." Note the large flash unit that holds three D-size batteries and uses a flashbulb with a screw-in base about the size of a 15 watt light bulb.
The Crown Graphic was manufactured 1947-1973. It is almost identical to the Pacemaker Speed Graphic, but made without the focal plane shutter, which reduced weight, and increased access to wide-angle lenses shorter than about 65mm.
Just like the Speed Graphic, the Crown Graphic was sold with an optional side-mounted Kalart rangefinder until 1955. Therefore, the above shown Crown Graphic is pre-1955.
We are on holiday but in the middle of a massive heat wave in France in the Lot and Dordogne regions. Today we found ourselves in Sarlat-la-Canada on a sweltering day. Upwards of 40 degrees. It was too hot to do much. We walked for ages looking for a Casino. Found it. Closed. The eventually found a Carrefour. And a taxi. The rest of the day was spent in the pool..
That said we did find this wonderful sign on a laundry building. My 35mm lens shoots too tight to get the full word in :-/
This model was created in Studio as part of a fun build for a zaLUG competition. It won 1st prize.

Mamiya Universal Press Camera with a 6x9 rollfilm back and a 127mm Mamiya-Sekor f:4.7 lens. (It goes up to f:64!)
It's a rangefinder, unlike the Bronica, which is an SLR and the shutter is in the lens, meaning there is no mirror slap to blur your photos, so you can shoot handheld at fairly slow speeds.
Also, being the kind of shutter it is, I can shoot with the flash at all of the speeds. Way cool.
The flash is my Minicam flash with the battery that you wear in a belt pack.
This should be fun for nighttime street shooting.

I love this, I have to make at least one on each machine I come across. I have from all the places I've been, so cool to keep as a souvenir.
