Bookmark designed for SYOG 2010 during Visual Presentation.
Photoshop and Illustrator were used to design this bookmarks. I designed three bookmarks revolving around the SYO2010. The colours chosen are mainly red and white, which symbolize the country’s flag and all of them include the five Olympics rings. Simple typography is added into the bookmarks too.

Future Relic Assignment :: The Transdimensional Compass :: I found a shiny 16mm film canister the week before and turned it into a relic from the future. Bronze paint was used as the foundation. This stuff had real bronze dust suspended in the paint. Then I used a black antique wash to darken it. After this, I applied a Blue Green Patina which oxidized the bronze and made the canister look like it had been buried for 90 years. Inside the canister I placed an iPad and then I sat the entire thing on top of an industrial lazy suzan that I found in Chinatown for 40$. I used the Cycling'74 iPad app to access the compass on the iPad, and I sent this information to MaxMSP running Jitter. I mapped the changing compass degrees to some variables in a feedback loop and then projected the feedback loop directly onto the film canister. As you spin the canister, the changing compass information rotates the image from the Max Patch which in turn is projected as a rotating image directly on the film canister.
This was my reason to visit the museum : the exhibition of the famous dutch photographer Ruud van Empel.
He creates photos with non-excisting persons and/or scenes, out of his "normal" photocollection. For instance: the head of a person contains 10 or more peaces from other heads. It is not to be seen, you can tell something is the matter, but to figure out what, is almost impossible. So is every item in a photo a piece of another photo.
This photo I took to give an impression of the presentation.
I uploaded these different photoseries to show it to my friends who were not able to come along.
