One last overview shot of the grocery area before we prepare to venture into GM. This shot does perhaps the best job of juxtaposing the exposed aluminum material with the actual beige wall there on the far right, and even then – interestingly enough – it looks like that section of beige wall doesn’t stretch all the way up to the ceiling, either. Or maybe that’s just my mind playing tricks on me. Regardless, there’s definitely a dichotomy in the two different looks here. One is way more put-together and one is way more industrial. I’m amazed at how much of a difference it makes.

This early Smith & Wesson rimfire revolver is engraved, "Capt. S.F. Willard presented by the Scranton Guards." Capt. Willard died at Antietam 9/17/1862 (see flic.kr/p/MdTM4J). The revolver carries serial number 3346 on the butt and has patent dates of 4/3/1856, 7/3/1859 and 12/18/1860 on the revolver drum. According to www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Category4_..., "In 1856 Smith & Wesson formed their second partnership to produce a small revolver designed to fire the Rimfire cartridge they patented in August of 1854. This revolver was the first successful fully self-contained cartridge revolver available in the world. Smith & Wesson secured patents for the revolver to prevent other manufacturers from producing a cartridge revolver - giving the young company a very lucrative business."

good presentation at work today by some students from Abertay Uni. It was a mixture of games/ mini apps on the lines of music mixers, drawing apps and chat rooms.
Students give presentations to community members as the culmination of Deep Creek Middle School's "School Without Walls" program.
