Next, high strength concrete will be poured. The purpose of the bridges is to allow stormwater to flow under them into the bio retention area.
Peregrine falcon in Ipswich plucking feathers from a pigeon as it brings it back to the nest platform and the waiting 5 young. Not very good quality as this is hand held and then cropped and taken on a typical wet English summers day.

It is always a good idea to service your hot water system before winter and ensure you have a maintenance check performed. It will give you peace that the hot water heater will last through the winter months.

It's official, I'm ready for Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day. I built a new camera for this year's shoot, a box with a 6x8 120 roll back attached. It's a 34mm f/170 with a .2mm pinhole that I bought from the Surplus Shed.
This is the 2nd test roll, this time I shot some Fuji NPC 160 that expired 11/2002. Exposing at EI50, I tested exposures from 4 seconds to 8 minutes. It all looks usable so I'm pretty happy about that. This is a super wide compared to the normal towards telephoto perspectives that I usually shoot. It will force me to do something different and that is good.
The School was delighted to welcome artist Andrew Ratcliffe for a second time, to host a portraiture workshop with some of our S3, S5 and S6 pupils.
The final result: simply delicious, AND so easy to prepare! Will post today the recipe @ CookingDiva.net

Six nations prepare for major Helmand operation
15,000 troops are set to launch major assaults on Taliban strongholds in Helmand.
At Camp Bastion the six nations involved in Operation Moshtarak are conducting battle preparations. Other troops are carrying out "shaping operations" which have been going on for a number of weeks in Nad Ali district.
Alongside the British troops are soldiers from Afghanistan, Canada, the United States, France and Estonia. The operation has been planned to remove insurgents from areas of central Helmand not previously cleared by ISAF troops.
NATO commanders intend to turn the tide this year on the insurgency.
Lieutenant General Nick Parker, the British ISAF Deputy Commander in Afghanistan, said that Op Moshtarak was the first part of a three-stage plan to increase security in the country.
He said that after the insurgency in the south had been subdued British forces would move to building capacity in the Afghan National Security Forces and that this would likely become the main effort later in the year.
The third stage will be transition and the reintegration of insurgents and sympathisers into Afghan society through an Afghan-led reintegration policy.
Use a large kitchen knife, cut / score about 1 cm deep on each chicken thigh, and about 1 cm apart from the next cut. This helps reduce the chicken skin 'shrinking' and keeps to the general shape whilst cooking, as well as actually putting some flavour in the flesh - not just the skin. Stuff with rosemary. Season with freshly ground pepper and Italian herbs. Turn to underside of each piece, rub half a teaspoon of whole grain mustard and more pepper. Let this sit for about 15mins whilst you prepare the other veg.
Usually I would season & marinate them overnight but I do not have that kind of time.
Like with everything else, preparation is the key to success. Fighters wrap their hands to protect themselves, to be able to strike harder. The wraps are checked and signed before the fight to ensure their quality.

Matanzas (description in a moment)...The most common dish, served daily is rice with dark beans served with a brownish sauce ; I liked it a lot but after some weeks of that diet, back in Brussels, I'm happy of eating something else...

(Part of the Matanzas set = my first day in Cuba = having landed in Varadero, I avoided the nearby holiday resort and instead, arrived without reservations in the little city of Matanzas on the way to Havana as I was very curious to discover what a normal Cuban town looked like.
I was lucky enough to meet in one of the "casas particulares" (the alternative to the state owned hotels : renting a room in a house or an appartment where a family is living - number of rented rooms now limited to 2) a woman who spoke fluent French as she is living in France :
... It was the end of her holidays : Rebecca was leaving the next day and had decided to tour her various friends in town. She invited me to join her, despite the fact that the room available at her mother's place (2nd photo) was taken by someone else.
For me, it was a unique occasion to see her native city from the inside and to penetrate into offices and assist at some reunions and exchanges of old souvenirs that sometimes moved her to tears... My first day in Cuba was indeed one of the best ones !)
