It's over - the summer visitors collect on the telegraph wires in the dawn light, and prepare for their long journey to southern Africa. The barn swallows are a regular feature under the eaves of our house - and countless other nesting sites in the farms and houses around here. A marker of the change of the seasons, as regular as harvesting.

Happy Telegraph Tuesday 😊

Coming to a stop just short of the South switch at Wasa, the way freight's conductor exits the comfort of his freshy refurbished SD40-2 to line the switch for his route which had been previously left in reverse by a meet that took place earlier in the day.

Adult Kingfisher preparing his catch.

An Atlantic puffin stands on the edge of a rocky cliff at Sumburgh Head with its wings partially raised, preparing to launch off the cliff down to the water. The bird stands with its orange feet on a small grass tuft and is surrounded by blooming sea pinks. Shetland, Scotland.

Let the show begin. Alice in Wonderland this summer's show for the New York Botanical Garden opens Saturday. It looks like it’s going to be a very good show.

It's funny I'm uploading this one of the two I took of the balloons heating up to lift off. Every time I though of one pic over the other I keep switching on which one to put up, so I guess I'm just going to stick both up and let them duke it out in the views/favs. Let the battle begin.

Sadly I was unable to get out with or without my camera over the weekend. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is an unpredictable beast that hijacks your plans and life. It is a disorder that also tends towards self-blame but, in a positive step from previously, I am not blaming myself for not getting out. Small wins are just as important as the large ones.

I'll try to take some photographs in the garden this week as I prepare and plan my vegetable garden for the coming spring. No pressure upon myself to do so though. Baby steps.

Take care everyone, whatever you love to take pictures of in this world.

As a record to myself this is re-upload number 2 before appearing in your update feeds due to an ongoing Flickr issue.

Das Vorziehen in der Wärme der Pflanzen, die später ausgebracht werden sollen, lässt schon mal die Vorfreude auf die Blumen aufkommen. Hier die Bartnelken.

This ship could not fit under the bridge, so it docked at Circular Quay Sydney where we actually sailed out of 8 days earlier. Our ship being a touch smaller was able to fit under the bridge, trust me only by inches, to dock a bit further away. It was a sight to see this big ship so close on the waters and exciting actually going under the bridge. I was sure the tall pieces on the ship were going to get hooked up in the bridges structure, but deep down I knew the captain knew what he was doing

I love watching gulls, they can be so very entertaining :-) I didn't even need to give them chips hahaha.

I arrived home safe and sound yesterday evening. I miss dad already, i had such a great time seeing him and also going down to Victoria to see grandpa and his partner was great too. The only thing that wasn't great, the complete opposite of great actually was of course... the bush fires.

Mum is very pleased i am home, nothing compared to the cat though. He's super happy i am back!
