Galbiati Group has developed an excellent business partnership with the end customer, offering a high level of experience in the mechanical precision machining of components of these plants, such as ribs i.e. plates (for example 3450 mm x 3000 mm with thickness of 100 mm), pistons and cylinders (for example 2800 mm x 5961 mm with thickness of 60 mm).

Given the high demand for machining of ribs, pistons and cylinders, Galbiati in order to build customer loyalty, had to think in terms of optimization of the production cycle, through a careful and rational planning of the machining cycle (milling, chip removal , thermal or surface treatments, painting, dimensional checks, etc.) that has allowed to increase its productivity and competitiveness.

We have carried out mechanical machining on behalf of a third party customer on a gas turbine component for an important international client.

This is a flame tube for gas turbine made of stainless steel with high chrome content.

The main difficulty occurred during the drilling of the flame tube for creating holes with a diameter of 1.8 mm, for a total of 1,200 holes.

Galbiati Group took carried out the construction of the UTE radio telescope, in steel structure and rectangular shape, strong enough to support the weight of the radio telescope frame during its relocation. The external frame is made up of infill panels, created to protect the telescopes from atmospheric conditions. The UTE radio telescope is made up of two parts: the upper rotating Dome part and the lower Shutter part which are stable, compact structures, both able to guarantee thermal protection, with low energy consumption. During spatial observations the Shutter tips over the Dome (which is a simple rotating structure), so their combined motion allows the cover to complete the radio telescope observing range.
