Galbiati Group has recently realized mechanical machining of boring and milling on two Edger drive gearbox housings as part of a revamp carried out on an existing hot rolling mill at Mariupol, Ukraine.

These Edger drive gearbox housings are twin and specular, with high rigidity union flange. The structure is made in an electrically welded and stress-relieved structure made of S355J2 carbon steel. It also incorporates generously proportioned inspection windows and an air breather for the levelling of machined surfaces.

Galbiati Group took carried out the construction of the UTE radio telescope, in steel structure and rectangular shape, strong enough to support the weight of the radio telescope frame during its relocation. The external frame is made up of infill panels, created to protect the telescopes from atmospheric conditions.The UTE radio telescope is made up of two parts: the upper rotating Dome part and the lower Shutter part which are stable, compact structures, both able to guarantee thermal protection, with low energy consumption. During spatial observations the Shutter tips over the Dome (which is a simple rotating structure), so their combined motion allows the cover to complete the radio telescope observing range.

We have recently performed third-party mechanical machining operations for a large base and head. These components, for their size and length, are perhaps the largest ever made.

The two components, base and head for six-piston compressor made of spheroidal cast iron, machined separately, are intended for a compressor station installed on systems fixed to the ground with the purpose of compressing the gas for its transition from solid to liquid state.

Galbiati Group has recently produced and built for one of the most important Italian companies, with destination Turkey, a tubes spot welding machine made by spiral calendering.

We have recently created a twin drive gearbox housing for hot rolling mill (UPN-IPE-HE profiles), with a total weight of 30 tons.
