With the Royal Copenhagen precise identification system, my guess is that this piece is from 1947 (dot above the A).
At this precise moment, sitting in bed with a breakfast cup of tea and banana the exact colloquial translation of 'Grand Large' has irritatingly escaped me. Simca used to use it on their cars, later shortened to GL so beloved of Messrs Ford, Vauxhall etc etc
Although a precise date of construction has yet to be determined, the aqueduct was likely built in the early 2nd century or late 1st century CE. Until the mid 19th century, it continued to bring water to Segovia from the Rio Frio, some 17 km (11 mi) from the city. It highest point is 29 m (94 ft) above the ground.
A very precise ritual for the lighting of the Flame is followed at every Games. It is lit from the sun's rays at the Temple of Hera in Olympia, in a traditional ceremony among the ruins of the home of the ancient Games.
After a short relay around Greece, the Flame is handed over to the new Host City at another ceremony in the Panathenaiko stadium in Athens.
The Flame is then delivered to the Host Country, where it is transferred from one Torchbearer to another, spreading the message of peace, unity and friendship. It ends its journey as the last Torchbearer lights the cauldron at the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony in the Olympic Stadium, marking the official start of the Games.
The Flame is extinguished on the final day of the Games, at the Closing Ceremony.

The precise Maya astrological calendar was capable of registering solar and lunar eclipses, as well as the movements of planets. Priests could predict certain celestial phenomenon through ongoing observation of the cosmos. Cosmology was a living, spiritual philosophy that permeated everyone's lives. The nobles who lived here placed themselves at the centre of the celestial realm when seated on the bench.
The celestial iconography of the elaborately sculpted 'Skyband' bench discovered here, along with the astrological orientation of the main structure, provides information about this important grouping of structures. A replica of the Skyband bench features celestial images and star signs as they glide across the sky. Writing on benches would usually allude to earthly events set within a cosmic moment. The original bench can be seen in town at the Museum of Maya Archeology.

Precise alignment was required for a monochromatic x-ray imager. A lead collimator was aligned between the detector port and a x-ray optic.

A spectacular Kaiseki meal, Rakuzen Kakinuma, Kyoto, Japan Eating here was spectacular - the chef was working alone. He explained via use of a translation app that his staff were out sick and his wife just had a baby. He then prepared and served a transcendental meal using seasonal ingredients. He siad he'd be taking a few days off after the evenings meal. We wished him luck with his firstborn.
Near Berra Tor - the path was very indistinct as the ferns had grown so much and enveloped much of the trail.
The more precise term is 'brackens', since, "Bracken (Pteridium) is a genus of large, coarse ferns in the family Dennstaedtiaceae." [Wikipedia] The word bracken is of Old Norse origin, related to Swedish bräken and Danish bregne, both meaning fern. Like other ferns, brackens do not have seeds or fruits, but the immature fronds, known as fiddleheads, are sometimes eaten, although some are thought to be carcinogenic (see: 'Bracken-Poisioning').

'Bracken Harvesting
Manaton
Circa 1920
#Bracken , throughout history, was mainly used for animal fodder, fuel and bedding, it was also an important thatching material in Britain till the 16th/17th century and on #Dartmoor until the 18th century when more effective roofing materials became more readily available. #Bracken ash was used for glass making, soap manufacture and as a bleaching agent for wool and linen.Another important use of bracken was as a packing and insulating material for protecting crops over the winter.Till the mid 20th century green #bracken foliage were used to pack soft fruit and fish. When the green stems are crushed they give off cyanide which helped prevent decay whilst other bio-chemicals within the foliage acted as insect repellents.Even up to the 1970s #fishmongers in Britain displayed their wares on plastic green fern fronds, a modern equivalent of a traditional practice. The multi-use of #bracken declined considerably by the 1940s when links were established that for the very same reasons it was once hailed as a practical preserver, packing material and feed those bio-chemical properties were found to be harmful and often fatal to animal and human health.

From the museum label: Feininger was inspired by the harmonious forms of traditional architecture—houses, bridges, and churches—in German villages. He sought to translate those forms into modern abstract painting. This depiction of the village church in Umpferstedt is constructed of precise geometrical facets and glasslike nuances of color and light.
