Practicing some makeup skills on a beautiful canvas. Feedback is appreciated! Makeup is tough and I'm no expert.
Seeing as I've never made a rag quilt before, I decided to do a little practice on some very small scraps of denim-- just to get some idea of how the frays might look. (These aren't as "raggy" as I'd hoped, really, but they're supposed to fray more and more with subsequent washings.)
It was also a chance for me to "refamiliarize" myself with my sewing machine. (I haven't really sewn much before, so it was rather slow going at first.)
ETA: I've since made more rag-quilted coasters from denim scraps, kind of like these.

I shoot with my daughter's "old" camera and she was showing me a depth of field shot. This is not one of them but I love her smile in this one. Practice...

I took a break from flashing strobes and practiced my panning shots. Most are too awful to post here, here are a few that came out okay. All shots were hand-held, with Image Stabilization set to Mode 2.
Shooting conditions weren't great, the sun was setting and the lens do not perform well at low light conditions. Camera was set to ISO800.
