About Emily Campbell’s practice

Through the use of photography my practice seeks to create a world that on the one hand is real and on the other – imaginary. Using digital imaging, I effectively ‘paint with photographs’. Each image is made up of many smaller photographs enabling me to create surreal and magical scenarios.

Down and dirty, tough and gritty...practice is where the ladies hone their craft and pick up a few bruises making ready for their bouts.

I am currently making some pottery paddles in the spare that I am not uploading photos or blogging. redbreadtie.blogspot.com After travelling to Korea I can see the beauty of handmade pottery. Many of the pots had unique paddle marks. I have a couple that I would like to reproduce and I have a couple ideas that I want to create. I, unfortunately do not have the proper tools to make the paddles. However, I will get them made somehow. I may have to hire a cabinet maker or someone like that. I have 10 paddles that I am going to try to make the grooves. If I can come up with 1 or 2 special ones, I will be happy. I also made 10 other paddles to practice on. I'll keep updating the process.
