Practice makes perfect, right?
As I ate six of them for breakfast, though (glutton) I'm calling them popovers. It's the same recipe, anyway.
The red-tail hawk fledglings from Swallows Park take to the skies and circle above me, showing off their flying abilities. You can read about this nesting adventure on my blog post

Medical Friendly Shelter Full Scale Exercise 2018
The City held a full-scale exercise of the Medically Friendly Shelter (MFS) designed to establish a learning environment for participants to exercise their MFS operational plans.
The exercise served as a practical walk through of planning, operational coordination, operational communication, logistics and supply chain management, public health, healthcare, and emergency medical services
The MFS is only activated for a Category 2 or greater hurricane or as directed by the City Manager. The MFS is for people who, during periods of evacuation or emergency, require sheltering assistance due to physical, mental or cognitive impairment, or a sensory disability that exceeds the basic level of care provided at a general population shelter, but does not require the level of care provided at a skilled medical facility. This includes help with administering medication, personal hygiene assistance with activities of daily living (washing, dressing and eating).

The kids were so excited that they go to see a Black Hawk take off. They were practicing load water in to the bucket underneath for water drops. Possibly going to California soon.
Jim Courier and Todd Martin lost early in the tournament but they stuck around to practice. I got these shots while waiting for the Stefan Edberg-Pete Sampras semifinal.

I decided to have a practice run on night photography at Steele Indian School Park last Saturday. As I pulled into the lot a little after 8, I was surprised by all the cars still there.
Turns out a free concert by Jacob Koller's Music for Bowlers jazz trio was going on in the ampitheatre. I completely forgot that this is the season where events at the park happen.
In any case, I parked my tripod at this vantage point and clicked away. The shot isn't remarkable unto itself, but it captures a casual unreported event happening in Phoenix and is one of my first night shots not overcome by noise.
