Addition to an outbuilding with heavy rafters supported by a purlin at the middle designed for heavy snow loads. Beams are fastened by mortise and tenon joints secured with a wood dowel pin. After stringers are placed, concrete tiles will cover the roof.

Not much to say about the editing process here. I blended two images together for focus and exposure and added a few layer masks for adjustments. I had a good time shooting here though. I have shot this post a handful of times and under different conditions, but I believe I like this one the best so far.

Let me know what you think. All comments and constructive criticisms are appreciated.

This abandoned house has been neglected for decades. Even the sign is barely hanging on.

Some more experimenting with ND filters and trying to process them to the way I would like, that's the hard part.

Fence post.

OK I realise you may not see the post top. If you like, try stepping back from the screen and shutting one eye (but make sure the neighbours can’t see you :) ). Our brains are very good at constructing something out of nothing!

I’ll post a link to the in-camera original anyway in the first comment...

This is a precursor image to several others that I started working on at the weekend for Sliders Sunday. I ran out of time. Normally I wouldn’t post an interim image like this but I quite liked it at this stage with the subdued colour - almost a monochrome effect. The next step is more colourful :)

It’s an old picture of a weathered fence post in late afternoon light, processed with Topaz Studio and the Glow module in particular. I am really quite intrigued by the effects you can get with this filter, especially when there are strong lines and contours in the starting image.

Thanks for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image! :)
