a different rendition of this un-named(?) mountain peak in So. CO, (I just call it the San Juan Cross)
Might be aliens invading somewhere, just not here at home. This is the tool box on my husbands truck.
This is a very old cactus and only started re-flowering again in the last couple of years. I got excited when I saw these few buds the other morning and now it has several more. Never give up hope, never say die! 😁😍
THANK YOU FOR ALL VIEWS, COMMENTS, FAVES AND INVITES.
Does anyone know why I cannot add to the slider group?
I don't have anything in there. I got it in by going to the group page and adding the photo that way.
This was a slight variation from another photo of the same title.
It almost seems like a very lonely road we are on.
Happy Slider Sunday
I am in desperate need of some colour on this dreary wet July day. I wouldn't mind the European heatwave for a few days, minus the wildfires of course. "Montbretia" Crocosmia × crocosmiiflora flowers processed with Liquid colour II filter in Topaz Studio 2.
Looking back at my previous images, I realised this is the 2nd time this same photo has featured in Sliders Sunday (see first comment box below) HSS!
Thank you to all my wonderful Flickr friends for your supportive messages & comments. The garden & polytunnel are keeping me busy so Flickr has taken a back seat lately, apologies for my lack of interaction. Martin's overall health situation has deteriorated slightly & he is reliant on oxygen more for day to day activities, but we are still able to pootle around garden centres & enjoy occasional lunches out. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts & prayers.
Last sunrise on the old trusted berth. The last sunrise for the Noordhinder on this old trusted berth. It is the day of the relocation to the new Koningskade also in Hellevoetsluis. A beautiful fresh sunny day to festively welcome the Lightship in the historic naval harbor where she will become a real maritime attraction together with other historic ships and the dry dock.

Lichtschip 12 De Noord-Hinder - Relocation
This Lightship (Est. 1963) is the last lightship built in the Netherlands. On March 21, 1994, this last Dutch lightship was definitively taken from the sea and is now a museum ship in Hellevoetsluis. The all orange ship in maintained by a group of passionate volunteers keeping the ship in authentic state. The ship has been in service at several places on the North Sea off the Dutch coast and is still well known to many shipping crews.
The Noord-Hinder is 45.4 meters long, 8.35 meters wide, draft 3.2 meters, displacement 510 tons and was equipped with a few small diesel engines. The light, in an 18-meter tower above sea level, had a range of 27 nautical miles. The light from the 4,200-watt lamp was amplified by a Fresnel lens and emitted 2 flares every 10 seconds. It was also equipped with a radar beacon and fog horn.

A late summer photo of a petunia bed at Pikes Peak State Park near McGregor, Iowa.
Developed with Darktable 3.6.0. Additional post-processing was done in GIMP (with G'MIC filters: Dream Smoothing + Graphic Boost) and Photoshop (light texture + vignette).
In 1923, the Hendee Manufacturing Company changed its name to The Indian Motocycle Company "– no ‘r’ in ‘motocycle’ when the word was first used with the name Indian."
I saw this one in Jersey City, NJ in October.

Last year I got one of those free packets of wildflowers seeds in the mail. I planted them and not much happened. This spring I have some wildflowers in a gorgeous blueish purplish color.
Fuji
Fujisan
postprocessing with:
- RawTherapee (curves, B&W conversion)
- Gimp (dodging, burning, add some extra grain, add a light blue tint)
I've added the extra grain for an older look and the tint for a colder look... hope you like it!
