reloaded, enhanced postprocessing

This is one of the most famous landmarks in Germany and an extremely famous castle throughout the world. It is said to be the castle that inspired Walt Disney for his castle. It was built by the order of Ludwig II, also known as Mad Ludwig.

This photo was taken from a foot bridge that provides awesome views of the castle and lovely scenery beyond it.

Taken in the middle of the day and using the camera on board panaroma function I was very limited in what i could do with this photo but i think it came out okay in the end but could be miles better. In future I think i will stick to sticking photos together in photoshop (pun not intended haha). This photo however is meant to be in 3D so if you have a 3D tv you maybe able to get an extra special view, let me know if anyone does have a 3D tv and has seen the picture on it :)

Press 'L' to view on black, it does look better :)

Got up this morning in a playful mood (I love being retired) and was definitely thinking "out of the box" - picked up the Nikon and put on the 10-24, which I haven't done in a while. Sipped some coffee.

The light streaming through the windows invigorates. The sun was shining brilliantly, although the air was heavy with humidity, but it wasn't raining (yay) and the sky was void of cloud cover (rare the past month).

Shooting with a wide angle is fun! Hit the inside of the house first and then went outdoors, but those shots can wait for another day.

I kept the fun going with Photoshop... Five For Fun.

---------------------

Post processing was done the same on all images. Each is as framed and reduced to 180dpi from 300. No other images or color were added. Toning, saturation and filters were all used in the same order for each photo. Spot saturation and toning on each for finished results.

May your 2025 be full

This year the FFF+ have created a group challenge called 'Five on The Fifth' (FOTF) ... five images in the form of a collage must be uploaded on the 5th of each month, with there being a different theme, set by a member of the group each month.

The photos can be five different images or five images of the one subject/object shot in different ways, as long as they are presented in the form of a collage.

This months theme was "structures" as chosen by www.flickr.com/people/laszlo_papinot/

I may be pushing the boundaries on this one ... its a manipulated composite of 5 images, re-creating the Gold Coast skyline as [not] seen from the lawns of the Gold Coast Arts Centre. The city sky scrapers are across a river and behind the sound shell structure, but not in the same perspective or dimensions as you see them here.

If you are up for the challenge of taking a daily photograph next year then check out my group www.flickr.com/groups/2016_one_photo_each_day

You have 7 days to upload each photo to the group so you don't have to upload every day unless you choose to.

What's the longest you've ever stuck around to take a photograph?

On my first night in Istanbul, I completely misjudged the sunset time and wound up waiting more than 2 hours on a cold and windy rooftop. Now, I'm editing photos under a blanket.

I have no regrets.

Etna - Sicily (Flight view)

Postprocessing RAW:-- lights and saturation

---

Mount Etna (Αἴτνη (Aítnē) in Classical Greek,[2] Aetna in Latin, also known as Muncibeddu (beautiful mountain) in Sicilian and Mongibello in Italian (from the Latin mons and the Arabic gibel, both meaning mountain[3]) is an active stratovolcano on the east coast of Sicily, close to Messina and Catania. Its Arabic name was Jebel Utlamat ("the Mountain of Fire").[citation needed] According to Adrian Room’s book Placenames of the World, the name Etna is said to have originated from a Phoenician word attuna meaning “furnace.” He dismisses the theory that Etna is from a Greek source meaning “I burn.”[4] It is the largest active volcano in Europe, currently standing 3,329 metres (10,922 ft) high, though this varies with summit eruptions; the mountain is 21 m (69 ft) lower now than it was in 1981. It is the highest mountain in Italy south of the Alps. Etna covers an area of 1,190 km² (460 sq mi) with a basal circumference of 140 km. This makes it by far the largest of the three active volcanoes in Italy, being about two and a half times the height of the next largest, Mount Vesuvius. Only Mount Teide in Tenerife surpasses it in the whole of the European region (though geographically Tenerife is an island of Africa).[5] In Greek Mythology, the deadly monster Typhon was trapped under this mountain by Zeus, the god of the sky.

Mount Etna is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and is in an almost constant state of activity. The fertile volcanic soils support extensive agriculture, with vineyards and orchards spread across the lower slopes of the mountain and the broad Plain of Catania to the south. Due to its history of recent activity and nearby population, Mount Etna has been designated a Decade Volcano by the United Nations.[6]
