Coming home from the vet. He got his stitches removed from the huge incision on his back where he had to have surgery.
I am still such a beginner with this camera (Nikon D7100). Shutter speed is never quite right. I rescued this missed masterpiece by HDR processing the original to bring out the color, and then creating two layers in Photoshop, and masking out the bird. I applied a motion blur to the background layer, more to invent an excuse for the messy photo.
“Overhoeks” is the latest addition to the Amsterdam-Noord quarters; located on the former Shell Research site, opposite of Amsterdam Central Station on the IJ banks.
Overhoeks is a typical growth area, where residential areas, industrial areas as well as areas for other commercial exploitations are developed. Newest addition to Overhoeks is Film institution EYE.
Shell have not left the area, they have moved a few blocks further down ’t IJ; separated by apartments, the offices perfectly blend in, the shell marks the spot. It is called Shell Technology Centre Amsterdam.
Here’s a wiki article on ’t IJ, which IMHO is wrong. The river is called ’t IJ, where the article refers to it as IJ.

Took the Panny GH1(3) with stock 14-140 lens to shoot mostly videos my girls' first "real" Halloween trick or treating;
Didn't really get to shoot much since it was a pretty crazy event--pack full of people on Centre Street.
I'm finding GH1 to be still a little too big to carried around when I am with the kids.
The image is post-processed using "ToyCamera Analog Color" software.
Shot during a brief outing to the TV Tower on the first night of the Europe Photobloggers 2007 Meetup in Berlin. This is the first HDR I am posting to Flickr. Highest position in Explore: 166.

The words in this extract from an Emily Dickinson poem have a special meaning for me. I first read them around the time I met Brad, and they seemed to express just how I felt about meeting him: I was thankful that my heart had found safe harbour. Since then, I've read the complete poem, and I suspect its meaning is less contented than I thought at first ... but I still like this bit of it.
The Winged Heart is one of my favourite things. Haddy, my youngest sister made it: the heart is made of wax, the wings are cast glass. I've had several attempts at photographing it and although today's effort was more successful than my other attempts, I don't think I've done it justice yet. So I'll probably try again another time.

So I missed the newest Skepticism album, but it seems like I stumbled across it right in time. Wholly fitting for my mood, while it's a season that I should find myself in tune with the festive spirits out and about, it's nearly impossible given the circumstances that always happen to crop up this time of year. Simultaneously I'm reminded how lucky I am, individually. Yes, I have a degenrative neurological disorder, but I can still take care of myself for the time being. And I've got Tanya, something no one else can say. And that's pretty awesome.
Here's a different crop and altogether new processing job on the Rambler picture. Haven't had the opportunity or favorable weather to get out to the next house yet, hoping for that sometime this week. Enjoy!

This is my beloved mother-in-law whom I am very thankful for giving into this world my lovely and beautiful wife. Without her I would not have married the love of my life.
My "biyenan" is already 76 years young. She have had 11 children of whom the 11th and youngest and her only girl is my lovely wife. I love my biyenan for being an understanding mother-in-law and a caring grandmother to her grandchildren.

It was a set of 1/4 second exposures taken from a moving express train of faraway clouds and nearby walls, edgarian blurred in pshop, level tweaked and farted about with.

Some moments could be captured only with an iPhone.
Considering how dark it was in the house that night, iphone did an ok job--quite noisy--but a little post-processing could turn the pics more usable, more stylized.
It's been way too long, but here's a new self-portrait. It's me post-processing pictures of the Garbage Strike show from earlier tonight. I have a love/hate relationship with post-processing.It would be fun if it wasn't so goddam time consuming.
Incidentally, this involved me using my toes to operate the remote shutter release on the camera. And, yeah, my desk is a huge mess. But if you know me at all, that shouldn't be a surprise.
