This mortuary closed in 2009, and since then is decaying, not helped by a fractured water main inside at one point. There were three height adjustable tables; today only two remain, as one slab disappeared in Autumn 2012. It built in the 1940's to cope with casualties of the second world war. A sombre and interesting trip however.

Arquitectura Colonial Cubana was Joaquín E. Weiss more important book and his more ambitious as well, it had so much information that it was never printed under his lifetime (apparently he started the first volume way before the Cuban Revolution of 1959), the first edition was released postmortem in 1973.

Is one of the most important books studied by architects in Cuban universities.

Nodules in lung tissue discovered on necropsy.

A pair of postmortem photographs of a young girl in a white dress. Many generations ago, when a loved one passed on, photographs of the deceased were taken to remember and cherish them. Some were posed to seem alive, some look like they are merely sleeping, and some are photographed resting in their coffins before the funeral. I have no idea as to when these particular photos were taken but she appears to be about 3 or 4 years old at time of death.

These are six of the ten honey bees that I found on the roof of my car today which was parked in the street under a large oak tree. After discovering this, I also saw a few sickly honey bees crawling along the curb. I do not use pesticides in my yard. Webster Groves, Missouri.

To dust and ashes shalt thou return …. ‘Post Mortem’ is a project in which the grieving process is central and all its aspects will be incorporated.

Written on the reverse of this cabinet card is the first stanza of a poem, "On Receipt Of My Mother's Picture," by William Cowper (1731–1800).

Oh that those lips had language! Life has pass'd

With me but roughly since I heard thee last.

Those lips are thine—thy own sweet smiles I see,

The same that oft in childhood solaced me;

Voice only fails, else, how distinct they say,

"Grieve not, my child, chase all thy fears away!"

It seems an obvious conclusion that this picture is of the mother of the person who wrote out Cowper's poem.

This is a postmortem result that shows a decent balance between things that went well and things that didn’t.
