In a few days these chairs and tables will be unchained - on April 28 many of the Dutch lock down Covid restrictions will be lifted.
We sure are all lookin’ forward to it. But ... it’s possibly too early, considering that the hospitals and their intensive care units are still crammed with Covid patients. It's remarkable that the government for the first time went against the strong recommendations of the Outbreak Management Team. Things might go seriously wrong.

“There is a certain majesty in simplicity which is far above all the quaintness of wit.” Alexander Pope
This butterfly comes from South America and is quite varied in its colouration, depending on the location. It is up to about 5.5-8 cm (2.2-3.1 in) i wingspan with a jerky unelegance in flight. It is one of the few butterflies that collects and digests pollen, conferring considerable longevity to the adults (several months). Adults roost in groups, returning to the same location each night. Also known as the Red Postman, the Red Passion Flower Butterfly, and the Crimson-patched Longwing.

The postman butterfly, common postman, or simply postman (Heliconius melpomene) is one of the heliconiine butterflies found from Mexico to northern South America. Several species in the genus have very similar markings and are difficult to distinguish. This is an example of mimicry.
The Postman Butterfly, Common Postman, or simply Postman (Heliconius Melpomene) is a species of brush-footed butterfly belonging to the subfamily of longwings or heliconians.
The Postman is one of the commonest and most widespread of the longwings, found from Mexico to Bolivia and southern Brazil.
This butterfly is well known for its geographic diversity in colour pattern. Throughout its range, the Postman is co-mimetic with the Red or Small Postman (Heliconius erato), and both species have around 30 named geographic sub-species with very simular colors and markings. They are up to about 5.5 - 8.5 cm in wingspan.
The Postman in the picture is the sub-species Heliconius melpomene cythera, the red flagged postman from Costa Rica.
