Sure, recreating a T rex from DNA trapped in amber would be cool, but making a cat-sized protohorse would be even cooler. Bonus, it [probably] wouldn't eat your face.

This is an edited version of the picture that I took. I apologize for the carpet filaments on the crane.
This is not just a normal paper crane, it is a crane that my friend made me in 6th grade. We always sat next to each other because our names are close together in the alphabet, just as he continues to sit behind me in classes this year. Every day for a month in 6th grade, he made me a paper crane out of different colored post-it notes. I kept my favorite 3, but this one was in my favorite color.
Also, this is kind of a tribute to one of my best friends. I've mentioned him a few times on here, but I've never really said much. Since I was 4 days old, we've been extremely close. He's always wavered between being my older brother, my twin, and my friend. I moved an hour and a half away when I was 6, but we never stopped talking, even when we had to use our parents' computers or spend hours on the phone. I see him at least twice a year, and recently, at least twice a summer. One of us is always injured, so it's become a tradition for me to go down and spend a few days at his house staying up late, sleeping in late, and ordering lunch at 2 pm. In over 16 years, we've never had a fight, never been angry or mad at each other, and never stopped talking to each other. I don't know a life without him being a part of it, and I hope I never have to live in that world. Even though all of our friends have told us that we're perfect for each other, that we balance each other perfectly, I've never thought of him like that. We've always been friends, and I thank him so much for never once judging me or doing anything to make me mad, and for knowing me better than almost anyone else, even though we've lived hours away for 10 years.
Sorry, I was feeling sentimental.
"You walked with me
Footprints in the sand
And helped me understand
Where I'm going
You walked with me
When I was all alone
With so much unknown
Along the way
Then I heard you say
I promise you
I'm always there
When your heart is filled with sorrow and despair
And I'll carry you
When you need a friend
You'll find my footprints in the sand"

I didn't write this note. It was already on the car. See next photo (Bad Parking Job: The Set-Up) for context.
Using a selection of fine tip color pens I tried to create another technicolour mug for your enjoyment. I hope you like it.
19 August 2011. The Body Shop in Wood Green was was damaged in the riot on 6/7 August.
Nearly two weeks later it was partly boarded-up but open and getting back to normal. Local people copied others elsewhere in England; adding coloured post-it stickers with personal messages.

In celebration of my daughter's first ever goal in a soccer game, I drew you this soccer themed mug of coffee. Part of the goal post makes up the handle and the ball also sits as a 3D element on the side of the mug. I hope you like it!

This is only a small part of my desk. You can imagine what the rest of my desk looks like. Yes, it is cluttered, if not more, then what you see here.
It's a rectangle mug that is made of wood and covered in colorful papers. However the paper has started to peel away layer by layer at the corner. This artsy mug was inspired by this photograph.
Hope you like it.

Dozens of Direct Relief Women volunteers took to the warehouse yesterday to organize 500 personal hygiene kits for homeless women in Santa Barbara County in honor of International Women’s Day, held annually on March 8th to celebrate improvements and accomplishments of women.
Because the kits are designed to be small, all contents were donated as travel-size, including mini toothpaste tubes, Chapstick, a hairbrush, soap, and a hand towel, among other supplies.
Each kit is valued at $17 and contains donations from individual and corporate donors, but it also provides much more than just supplies for these women in need. Every kit includes a small pack of post-it notes with a hand-written note of encouragement on top written by one of the Direct Relief Women volunteers.
Direct Relief will distribute these kits to their partners throughout Santa Barbara County like Casa Esperanza, the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission, and Doctors Without Walls, as well as the Safe Parking Program, who will then reach out to women in need.
Yo Gabba Gabba! There is a party in Brobee's tummy and it is full of coffee. I went to see Yo Gabba Gabba Live (It's Time to Dance) last Sunday with my Daughter. It was a blast. Even Biz Markie was there to perform Biz's beat of the day and a song after that. We had a blast.

Both the C and the K can be used as the handle on this CMYK mug of coffee. I hope you like this bubbly CMYK font on the side of this white mug.

this system of carefully organized post-it notes is the only thing that comes between disaster and the delightful bliss that is little jimmy's mother being able to find that frigging purple gameboy online while she shoves pringles down her gullet at 2am.
I try and remember this to the best of my ability; you never know when something great will come along! :)
Thanks to the Modify Watches customer service for being so great. I had to return and get a replacement watch face recently and it went so well and quick. So Thanks to them. I hope they enjoy this little coffee drawing I included in the return package.

for the "what's in your bag" group ... or maybe i just wanted an excuse to put a lot of notes on a photo.
this is probably fairly typical of the amount of random things i keep in my bag, although the contents themselves are often rotated. doing this actually helped me realize what an accurate depiction my bag is of the things i am currently contemplating.
The HR department covered our VP of HR's convertible Mustang in Post-It notes for Boss' Day. She loved it & thought it was hilarious - now she is telling them they can't order Post-It notes for a while, LOL.
Luckily for all involved, Mr Fox awoke from the avalanche blissfully unaware of his near demise! He did think it a little peculiar though when he looked in the mirror to find his head slightly flattened on one side - but Mrs PB shrewdly distracted him by playing catch (with Knut) before he could properly examine the damage!
Apart from that, the day went largely without event. Concerned by the potential damage this could cause to her reputation, Mrs PB, took it upon herself perpetrate a little act of naughtiness. After accompanying Mr Fox on his rounds, and bagging a few chickens for dinner, the two of them sat back to survey their estate. This was the moment Mrs PB was waiting, pulling a note from her pocket, she gently patted it onto Mr Fox's back!
Unfortunately Mrs PB's little scheme backfired as being of a fairly lazy disposition, had delegated the task of writing the note to the completely crackers, and only semi literate, Mr Raccoon. She had been so pleased with herself she didn't think to check!
