Same location as in May, but different text.

Since my first posting as Kacey in February of 2009 never in my wildest imaginings did I think that my images would generate this magnitude of response! I want to wish a very heartfelt Thank You! to everyone- fans, admirers, friends, family and even critics- who has stopped by my photo stream to take a look.

That most of you like my pictures to this extent is not only flattering in the extreme it is also extraordinarily gratifying.

Thank you all for your interest!

hugs!

Kacey

This is a photograph from the BHAA K-Club 10KM Road Race and Fun Run 2014 was held at the K-Club Golf and Hotel Resort, Straffan, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Saturday 12th of April 2013 at 11:00. The race, an annual event, has become famous for it's very fast and flat course which starts and finishes within the grounds of the K-Club. While the weather was dry there was a tough breeze in places which made running conditions a little harder than expected. The road race has gained fame through it's PB potential but the spread of refreshments and catering afterwards are now legendary and are of the highest standard imaginable. Race director Gerry Byrne and a very large team of volunteers, K-Club staff, and local Gardai must be given the highest of compliments for the staging of the event. Well done everyone.

We have an extensive set of photographs on our Flickr Photostream: www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157643843402565/

Reading on a Smartphone or tablet? Don't forget to scroll down further to read more about this race and see important Internet links to other information about the race! You can also find out how to access and download these photographs.

All profits from the event are donated to charity with the chosen charity for the race being the Parkinsons Association of Ireland. With stiff competition from a number of Parkruns and other races in the North Leinster area the K-Club 10KM stood out for it's flawless organisation, large field, and epic spread of refreshments afterwards.

Who are the BHAA? The BHAA (Business Houses Athletic Association) is a work place athletic organisation who's aim is to facilitate colleagues to run together in a series of races. They organise a series of properly managed cross country, trail and road races over the year. To learn more about membership, fixtures, etc you can visit their website bhaa.ie/. You do not need to be a member of a company or BHAA organisation to take part in any of their races.

Our only "cost" is our request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us.

When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.

Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

This is a photograph is from a set of photographs from the Castlepollard 5KM Road Race and Fun Run 2017, also known as the Tullynally Challenge, which was held in Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 16th August 2017 at 20:00. The race is hosted by North Westmeath Athletic Club. The weather was reasonably good for road racing. The participants had a very stiff breeze in their faces on the outward stretch and all the way to the 2KM mark within Tullynally. This then became a helpful tailwail for the final KM of the race.

Starting off many years ago the race was very much a local affair drawing runners from the sounding areas of Mullingar, North East Meath, Cavan, and Longford. However, the race has grown in stature and popularity over the years and is now one of the most well attended road races in the midlands and sees participants from all over Ireland. The race offers prizes in all categories. The Castlepollard 5KM Road Race attempts to support young runners and walkers by organising a range of underage races around the town square before the adult race at 20:00. Profits from the race go towards grassroots athletics in the region - North Westmeath Athletics, Schools Cross Country, and local community games. As summer moves into autumn the Castlepollard 5KM can be considered as the unofficial ending of summer evening road racing in the midlands as with the fading light of the late summer evenings comes less opportunities to hold races in the evening time. Castlepollard is a small town located in North County Westmeath amongst the lakes of Lough Lene and Lough Derravagh. One of the show pieces of the race landscape is Tullynally Castle which provides almost 2.5KM of the race route. The name Tullynally is an adaption of 'Tulaigh an Eallaigh' – the Hill of the Swan. The hill overlooks the mythical Lough Derravaragh. Irish folklore legend names the lake as where the Children of Lir, who were turned into swans, were destined to live for 300 years. Tullynally Castle is still a family home to this day.

One of the enduring symbols of the Castlepollard 5KM is the tireless work of Andy MacEoin of North Westmeath AC who has been a visitor to almost every road race in the Midlands and beyond over the past number of months to publicize the event. Many of the participants tonight will have seen Andy's strategically placed advertising signs around other road race routes. Certainly this work, and that of many other members of North Westmeath AC, has paid off well.

The race begins near the center of the town square and proceeds directly out the R395 towards Coole and Edgeworthstown. The first KM is flat and quick allowing the field to spread out. The race then enters the Tullynally Castle estate and proceeds up the tree-lined avenue. The gardens, like the castle are on a grand scale, taking in nearly 12 acres. This allows the race to make a big loop of the gardens with a quick downhill stretch followed by a sharp climb before the race rejoins it's outgoing path for the final 1.5KM of the race. The final 1100M from the gate of the Castle grounds to the finish is as the first - fast and flat and allows for a great finish passing the GAA grounds with finish line just outside the local Fire Station.

This year almost 400 took part in the race. It goes without saying that the Castlepollard 5KM has become one of the "must do" road race events in the midlands. Everything that is good about club road racing in Ireland can be found here.

Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?

The explaination is very simple.

Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. .posting these of my favorites to encourage your to go party in their photostreams .... check out these amazing photographers -- some you will be familiar with and some you may not know! I am always grateful for the photogs I know and newly discover on flickr, for sharing their talents and gifts with the rest of us. What gorgeousity! thanks everyone for making my life brighter.

.

.

As always, I get huge inspiration and pleasure from re-visiting my favorite photos ... watching the collection as a slideshow and almost even more ... from visiting other people's favorites. A flickr user's favorites collection is a window into their taste and aesthetic. And often a glimpse at their personality. However my taste and style might evolve, I can always go back through my favorites and see where I have been.

Of course you could always just go to the page called "MontanaRaven's Favorites" ... or anybody else's faves. But then, you'd miss out on my commentary, which I insert as notes on the photos when I have time.

I often include links in these photo-mosaics, so if you respond to any of the photos, you can go visit those wonderful photographers' flickr streams yourself. Enjoy!

Boyce Avenue

Magazzini Generali - Milano

20 Marzo 2014

Boyce Avenue, a Florida-based band popular for its strong acoustic roots and melodic rock sound, consists of the three brothers Alejandro, Fabian, and Daniel Manzano. The brothers first came together as a band in 2004 when Alejandro (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Fabian (guitar, vocals), and their older brother Daniel (bass, percussion, vocals) reconnected after pursuing their respective educational goals. While music was always a part of their lives and ultimately their collective goal, pursuing a higher education was also important to the brothers. After graduating from Harvard Law School, Daniel moved back to Florida, to join his brothers Fabian and Alejandro, who were both attending classes at the University of Florida. It was there that the brothers continued to write music and to perform local shows, and took their most formative steps toward becoming a band.

In 2007, in an effort to share their music and ideas with the world, the band decided to start filming and posting videos on YouTube of their own songs and some of their favorite songs by other artists. Some of the first few videos they posted included acoustic versions of songs such as Justin Timberlake’s “LoveStoned”, Rihanna’s “Umbrella”, and Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida”, among many others. The videos resonated instantly with YouTube viewers. And to date, the band has over 300,000,000 views on YouTube and over 700,000 subscribers to their channel, making theirs one of the most frequented channels worldwide on YouTube.

Early on, the band wanted to set itself apart from other acts that had achieved success online by taking its music straight to the people, live. Believing firmly in the strength of their online fans, and in its music, the band booked a stand-alone show in New York City in January of 2009, for their first ever performance in the city. Surprising label and industry folks alike, the show - perceived by others as a gamble - was an enormous sellout and success. Since then, the band has been steadily touring the world over with similar results. In early 2009, the band performed for an estimated total of 25,000 fans over four headline shows in the Philippines. And on the heels of its whirlwind success in the Philippines, the band launched headline tours in the USA, Canada, and Europe. In response to the staunch support of its fans, this Summer/Fall of 2011 sees the band playing headline shows in Indonesia, Australia, USA, Canada, and Europe, and playing in iconic rooms thoughout the world, such as The Fillmore in San Francisco, Webster Hall in New York, The Riviera Theatre in Chicago, The Sound Academy in Toronto, Shepherd's Bush in London, The Olympia Theatre in Dublin, and Live Music Hall in Cologne.

During the band's early years, it assiduously recorded original music for it's full-length debut album, "All We Have Left," which will be re-released independently by the band this Fall, through its own label, 3 Peace Records. The lead out singles from the album include “Every Breath,” "On My Way," and "Broken Angel". The music video for "Every Breath," the first single off the abum was shot by acclaimed director Zach Merch (Blue October, Safetysuit) in Los Angeles, and was a collaborative effort that grew from a treatment written by the band. Because "All We Have Left" was entirely written, funded, and produced by the band, the band hopes it will serve as a strong statement to its supporters of who the band is at this point in their career, and who they want to be as artists and individuals.

Met the nice owner of the lovely BMW today, he has owned this car since 1978. Its got aluminium bonnet, boot and doors.

Taken myself, in the mirror. Not the greatest photo, but at least it shows the tattoo pretty well. Flipped to show how it is really positioned on my arm. Tattoo done by Billy at Scarred for Life, Boulder, CO.

My, my this tattoo seems to have generated quite a discussion at forums.swordforum.com/showthread.php?t=92673 . Let's clarify a few things, shall we?

1. I am a WOMAN. Why are you assuming I'm a man?

2. I practice a swordfighting style called American Hard Style Japanese Swordfighting, created by Master Thomas Chang.

3. I don't care about tattoo practices in Japan. I don't plan on ever going to Japan.

4. I've never read the book referenced in the topic thread. My sensei taught me about the four eyes of the Samurai. I got the English translations from him.

5. The kanji is correct... I have a Japanese friend who checks all my kanji for me before I decide to get tattooed. I also have a tattoo in kanji for 'Indomitable Spirit'.

6. After reading that forum, I have figured out that you all are a bunch of elitist, Japanese culture snobs. What in the hell does that have to do with swordfighting (since you're posting on a swordfighting forum)?

Just to let you all know that for the next few weeks I will be having a break from regular posting (except for reports on my classes and workshop this month) but I will still probably be doing some quick instagramming.

Some of you asked after posting the romantic moonlight rendezvous www.flickr.com/photos/bihua/247760831/

what's next for this couple.

Of course, we all want to know.

As in the movie "Lola rennt" there are several possible outcomes - some with happy end, some not.

I start with a scenario, which we see quite often today in our modern time.

Other scenarios will follow.

The story is part of www.flickr.com/photos/bihua/sets/72157594277282386/

Posting some photos from the past year that I passed on before.

Posting some more old photos that I took just cause I feel like it. ;)

These are photos that I took when I attended My Little Pony Fair in 2008.

I seriously had the best time of my life there. The whole entire weekend was perfect. It was wonderful to be around so many passionate pony people! I loved it so much.

I got to go on a tour of Hasbro, I got to meet the creator of My Little Pony Bonnie Zacherle & get an autographed pony signed by her, I got 2 fair exclusives as well as expanded on my entire pony collection (majorly). We got to hear a panel of representatives from Hasbro speak & answer questions about the line, we got to play lots of games including pony trivia. I got to enter giveaways & I actually won a bunch of stuff! <3 Just everything was so, so much fun!

I really do hope that someday I will have the chance to attend the convention again. :)

This is a photo I took at one of the collector's booths display.

MOC MIMIC!!!!!!!!!!

She is so rare that I couldn't pass up the chance to take a photo of her. :)

SO, so freaking beautiful up close & in real life!

Check out the lil baby custom Mimic too. :)

On the evening of Monday August 20, 2018, and into the morning of the next day, a storm system moved across southern Wisconsin, dropping as much as 15.3 inches of rain in western Dane County.

Wisconsin & Southern Railroad's Prairie Subdivision follows Black Earth Creek between Middleton and Arena, a distance of about 19 miles, including 13 crossings. With the major flooding of the creek and low-lying areas, WSOR sustained massive damage to the line, including dozens of washouts and several landslides.

Submission for Today's Posting #210 - Diamond Jubilee Holiday; (Commonwealth of Britain) It's the Queen's 60th year on the throne. Congrats your majesty - I'm wearing my diamond earrings in celebration!

Upon close look, this could also be a submission for the "wrinkles" challenge posted earlier this week. Yikes, time to upgrade my moisturizer! (Having said that, this is submission for Scavenger Hunt 101 - #77 Wrinkles)

Many thanks to John for correcting the terminology from Commonwealth of England to Commonwealth of Britain. Hopefully no Scottish, Irish, or Welsh Flickr members were offended!

Reverse of this. Same module as Bascetta's Rosa dei Venti. Thanks, Mélisande* for posting about that.

This side would look better in paper that is colored on both sides - some of the white side of the paper shows here.

LOL...long time viewers may remember that one of my favorite warm weather pastimes while hiking is trying to catch hovering dragons with manual focus...a fun challenge, here's this season's first effort...not a prize winner, but the season's just begun...LOL

After posting the originator to this idea, I stumbled across some other versions I had shot while on my magical mystery tour in Tucumcari.

For some reason, the fact that it's an Chevy Apache truck cab just fits right in with New Mexico and Tucumcari. I didn't have to work very hard with this to bring out its innate texture, like crunchy photographic granola goodness!

Intriguing post.

Sorry to be so behind in the group posting I'm just not Flickering or taking shots everyday lately ....

I took this little guy while on vacation ...he had such a sweet tweet ....

May photo a day group....

Posting these out of order from my walk along all of Madison Street, 4/5/08--this was near Pulaski, I think

These are photos I’ve taken the past year and a half. It’s mostly stuff from local car meets, long exposures, exploring with b&w film and just all round shooting anything I like.

My first official posting of 2013 so Happy New Year and Happy Bench Monday Everyone. Well after two weeks off I am back to work....maybe I will be able to slow down and get some rest now Hahaha. Had it not been for the snow, this bench would have been very inviting to me. It was a beautiful day, nice and warm with the sun shining brightly. We have been so lucky so far in 2013....sun everyday (I sure hope I didn't just jinx that). Wishing everyone a wonderful week. Stay safe and happy picture taking :)
