Thought this series might make interesting wallpaper for my monitors at work. I have two, so I usually do sort of a diptych and would use these in pairs. Might be a little too loud and busy, we'll see.
All things are possible to him that believeth.
" Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.,"
Mark 9:23
Many professed Christians are always doubting and fearing, and they forlornly think that this is the necessary state of believers. This is a mistake, for "all things are possible to him that believeth"; and it is possible for us to mount into a state in which a doubt or a fear shall be but as a bird of passage flitting across the soul, but never lingering there. When you read of the high and sweet communions enjoyed by favoured saints, you sigh and murmur in the chamber of your heart, "Alas! these are not for me." O climber, if thou hast but faith, thou shalt yet stand upon the sunny pinnacle of the temple, for "all things are possible to him that believeth." You hear of exploits which holy men have done for Jesus; what they have enjoyed of him; how much they have been like him; how they have been able to endure great persecutions for his sake; and you say, "Ah! as for me, I am but a worm; I can never attain to this." But there is nothing which one saint was, that you may not be. There is no elevation of grace, no attainment of spirituality, no clearness of assurance, no post of duty, which is not open to you if you have but the power to believe. Lay aside your sackcloth and ashes, and rise to the dignity of your true position; you are little in Israel because you will be so, not because there is any necessity for it. It is not meet that thou shouldst grovel in the dust, O child of a King. Ascend! The golden throne of assurance is waiting for you! The crown of communion with Jesus is ready to bedeck your brow. Wrap yourself in scarlet and fine linen, and fare sumptuously every day; for if thou believest, thou mayst eat the fat of kidneys of wheat; thy land shall flow with milk and honey, and thy soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness. Gather golden sheaves of grace, for they await thee in the fields of faith. "All things are possible to him that believeth." Praise the Lord, God bless
The end of this stone building on The Military Reservation at West Point near where it borders the State Parkland looks remarkably like a school house. The army uses it for some purpose. It is on mine Torn Road which is often closed if the ranges are in use
So partner... am I going the right way with the colors ?? Ley me know what should stay, what should go or what to add...

2 larvae in leaf-mine on cock's-foot grass (Dactylis glomerata) - Hardy Farm, Chorlton, Manchester - 1.9.18. Thought I would try for the leaf-mines of Elachista apicipunctella today, and found these tenanted mines within 10 metres of the back gate, here in Chorlton, Manchester. The mines are on Cock's-foot Grass (Dactylis glomerata). Not sure I can definitely rule out Elachista atricomella but the fact that there are a couple of larvae in the same blade, the mines are more irregular than atricomella, and timing, all make me think these are probably apicipunctella, which is quite a common moth locally.
Does anybody have any experience of the early stages of this species, and how to keep the larvae alive over winter?
A viisit to the "Lavoir Public" (public wash house) with my Praktica VLC3 and its normal lens Pentacon electric Multi-Coated 1:1.8 f=50mm.
Incidentally I saw the day before that it would be possible to visit a small part of this strange and intriguing building constructed in 1934 in Lyon, France, a sort of "sento" combining public bathes and washing facility. At that time, there were no washing machines nor bathroom at home and the public bathes and wash house promoted a new hygienic area in the 30's. The building is closed now to the public but several projects exists for its reconversion to cultural and artistic activities. I just saw the light inside but it was the closure time. I don't know why, but I thought it could be interesting to come back the day after with a Kodak Tri-X film known to give a beautiful contrast in such light.
The Kodak Tri-X 36-exposure film was exposed for 400 ISO and developed using Tetenal UltraFin at dilution 1+10 for 9 min at 20°C. The film was exposed following the readings of the Praktica camera or a Minolta Autometer III fitted with a 10° finder privileging the shadow zones.

After process the film was digitalized using a Sony A7 body and a Minolta Slide Duplicator with a Minolta Auto Bellows III with a lens Minolta Bellow Macro Rokkor 50mm f/3.5.
About the camera :
This Praktica VLC of the 3rd generation (VLC3, 1978-1981) was manufactured by VEB Pentacon Dresden, Germany. It came with orignal Pentacon accessories including, a shade hood for its normal lens Pentacon "electric Multi-coated" 1:1,8 f=50mm, a waist finder, a straight magnification finder, and the regular pentaprism. There are also 6 different finder screens, the Pentacon hot shoe for a flash, lens and body caps, and a Praktica ever-ready case.
The camera has a CdS photometric circuitry powered by an unusual 4.5V battery that I replaced by a set of 3 LR44 alkaline batteries in series. As the ASAHI PENTAX Spomatic SP, the bridge circuit is insensitive to the voltage difference. To be independent of the finders, the cell is functioning behind the mirror as in the Topcon Super D or the Miranda Auto Sensorex EE.
This Praktica operates at full aperture using an electrical transmission of the aperture using 3 contacts on the M42 lens mount. It could however operates any non electric M42 lenses at real aperture too by acting on the rotary switch at the top left. As for the other Praktica of the L series the shutter is made of vertical steel curtains making the X-flash synchro at about 1/125 s.
Overall Pentacon produced 85 000 Praktica VLC between 1974 and 1981 among about 3 millions of Praktica "L" (LLC MTL TL L etc).
"Hold still!"
Mono & Colour. No need to argue. I like both
But then I saw the splashes on the mirror and thought they would make a good blood spurt colour pop!
That's just the way my mind works
The blue is quite a contrast, but then the yellow makes it REALLY BRIGHT. But I bought the yellow for a quilt backing, so I wouldn't have to piece it as much . . .

I would love your thoughts on these 3 potential designs for your item. I have made the colors as close as possible so that it will be easy to see how they will be used. The solid teal on the bottom of the pile will not be visible on this portion of the item.
"The Possible Mediums conference is composed of a series of workshops and panel discussions revolving around four “possible mediums.” Challenging the boundaries of architectural convention, the invited workshop leaders employ exploratory processes rooted in mediums external to the discipline (such as film or comics) or developed from atypical applications of more conventional mediums (such as drawings or models). The technical sophistication and inventive applications of their work reflect two major developments within speculative architecture of the past decade: a broad diffusion of technological expertise and a shift from critical to projective theory. Preserving commitment to expertise and imagination, Possible Mediums places this group of designers in productive dialog, unpacking their collective foundations and futures."
