When we first started to see the aurora borealis during twilight, we could still sunset color on the horizon!
The moon set a little bit north of west, so the bands of green aurora stretched east-west overhead, converging on the east and west horizons. That pattern continued all night. The brightest band often ran across the sky to the south of us (as in this photo).

I had to be apart of this. I'm honored that i get to live through this. Not gonna be another one of these anytime soon;D haha.
Anyways. I'm just laying here enjoying music as i edit some senior photos. Its been a really busy day. I went up to Hershey Medical Center today to see my doctor.
I have a auto-immune disease. And no one really understands. I don't know anyone else with a condition similar to me. I live in a small town where everyones basically healthy, and no one really knows what to think of me. I'm.. well... a sickly person.
But today my doctor told me about a Christmas party for people with Rheumatoid Arthritis from the Rheumatoid Arthrisis Foundation (I'm guessing).
Anyways, its for people with all ages who not only have RA but who have auto-immune diseases get together. It'd be so nice to have people who experience similar problems to talk to. I need that so badly. Thankfully I do not have RA, but my doctor said it would be great for me to go. So hopefully I can get my ass up to state college for that party. I'm in need of a little fun. ahahaha. xD
Anyways, like i said HAPPY 11/11/11 guys!!

Living in the country, any length of hair on a dog that chases quail, is difficult to maintain. As her hearing has declined, we've thinned down most of the bulk on the ears. Hasn't made a difference.

展示タイトルにもある通り、こちらはナダール東京で個展をしたい人たちが集まって開催するグループ展です。十人の作家が決められたスペースに写真を展示し、それをお客様が観て「この人に個展を」と思った作品に一票を投じる、という内容です。

今回は展示スペースが限られているので、観てもらう作品選びには随分苦労しました。「この場所で観てもらいたい写真って、どれだろう？」と考え出したら五里霧中。ゴールが無いようにも感じられ、作り始める段階からとても良い経験となりました。
八木は、福島県浜通り地区で撮影したものを六枚組で展示しています。ブックはA4・80ページ、植物の写真で二つのテーマを軸に構成しています。展示作品は初出、ブックは、後半の「ここにあること」は東京では初出です。
在廊予定日は以下の通りです。18日（火）、21日（金）、22日（土）、29日（土）、30日（日）。平日も時間があれば、出来る限り在廊します。感想や質問があれば、どんなことでもお知らせ下さると嬉しいです。
一つのギャラリーに一度に十人が個展をするような、贅沢な展示となりました。南青山へぜひ足をお運び下さい。皆様のお越しをお待ちしています！

Der Aussichtsturm in Dürrenmettstetten ist ein inzwischen auch überregional sehr bekannter Aussichtsturm am Rande des Schwarzwalds, ähnlich dem Vogteiturm in Loßburg.
Er wurde 1998 von den Natur- und Wanderfreunden Dürrenmettstetten mit viel Eigenleistung und Spenden errichtet. Der Standpunkt des Turms ist genau 676 Meter über NN und mit einer Turmhöhe von 24 Metern befindet sich die Aussichtsplattform genau auf 700 Meter über NN.
Schon aus der Weite ist der imposante Turm auf dem Höhenplateau zwischen Oberiflingen und Dürrenmettstetten zu sehen.
Um so weiter ist jedoch die Sicht auf dem Turm, welcher ein lückenloses 360° Panorama ermöglicht!
Dabei reicht die Sicht vom Heckengäu über den Schönbuch bis nach Tübingen. Hier folgt das Panorama der Achalm (707 Meter über NN) bei Reutlingen in Richtung des Albtrauf der schwäbischen Alb. Über den Blick auf die Burg Hohenzollern geht es weiter in Richtung des Plettenbergs bei Balingen. Von hier aus ist bei sehr guter Sicht auch das Panorama der Alpen in der Zentralschweiz sichtbar. Über den Verlauf des Neckartals geht es dann weiter Richtung Südschwarzwald, wo unter anderem bei guter Sicht der Feldbergturm gut erkennbar ist. Dazwischen ist bei sehr guten Sichtverhältnissen der Blick auf das Berner Oberland mit den bekannten Gipfeln Mönch und Jungfrau gegeben. Das letzte Stück des Panoramas folgt vom Südschwarzwals in Richtung Nordschwarzwald. Hier ist unter anderem Freudenstadt erkennbar und ein Stück weiter der Gipfelrücken der Hornisgrinde mit Aussichtsturm.
Das gesamte Panorama (inklusive markanter Orientierungspunkten) wird über vier Aussichtstafeln beschrieben.

The red deer (Cervus elaphus) is one of the largest deer species. The red deer inhabits most of Europe, the Caucasus Mountains region, Asia Minor, Iran, parts of western Asia, and central Asia. It also inhabits the Atlas Mountains region between Morocco and Tunisia in northwestern Africa, being the only species of deer to inhabit Africa. Red deer have been introduced to other areas, including Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada, Peru, Uruguay, Chile and Argentina. In many parts of the world, the meat (venison) from red deer is used as a food source.
The red deer is the fourth-largest deer species behind moose, elk and sambar deer. It is a ruminant, eating its food in two stages and having an even number of toes on each hoof, like camels, goats and cattle. European red deer have a relatively long tail compared to their Asian and North American relatives. Subtle differences in appearance are noted between the various subspecies of red deer, primarily in size and antlers, with the smallest being the Corsican red deer found on the islands of Corsica and Sardinia and the largest being the Caspian red deer (or maral) of Asia Minor and the Caucasus Region to the west of the Caspian Sea. The deer of central and western Europe vary greatly in size, with some of the largest deer found in the Carpathian Mountains in Central Europe.Western European red deer, historically, grew to large size given ample food supply (including people's crops), and descendants of introduced populations living in New Zealand and Argentina have grown quite large in both body and antler size. Large red deer stags, like the Caspian red deer or those of the Carpathian Mountains, may rival the wapiti in size. Female red deer are much smaller than their male counterparts.
The European red deer is found in southwestern Asia (Asia Minor and Caucasus regions), North Africa and Europe. The red deer is the largest non-domesticated land mammal still existing in Ireland. The Barbary stag (which resembles the western European red deer) is the only member of the deer family represented in Africa, with the population centred in the northwestern region of the continent in the Atlas Mountains. As of the mid-1990s, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria were the only African countries known to have red deer.
In the Netherlands, a large herd (ca. 3000 animals counted in late 2012) lives in the Oostvaarders Plassen, a nature reserve. Ireland has its own unique subspecies. In France the population is thriving, having multiplied fivefold in the last half-century, increasing from 30,000 in 1970 to approximately 160,000 in 2014. The deer has particularly expanded its footprint into forests at higher altitudes than before. In the UK, indigenous populations occur in Scotland, the Lake District, and the South West of England (principally on Exmoor). Not all of these are of entirely pure bloodlines, as some of these populations have been supplemented with deliberate releases of deer from parks, such as Warnham or Woburn Abbey, in an attempt to increase antler sizes and body weights. The University of Edinburgh found that, in Scotland, there has been extensive hybridisation with the closely related sika deer.
Several other populations have originated either with "carted" deer kept for stag hunts being left out at the end of the hunt, escapes from deer farms, or deliberate releases. Carted deer were kept by stag hunts with no wild red deer in the locality and were normally recaptured after the hunt and used again; although the hunts are called "stag hunts", the Norwich Staghounds only hunted hinds (female red deer), and in 1950, at least eight hinds (some of which may have been pregnant) were known to be at large near Kimberley and West Harling; they formed the basis of a new population based in Thetford Forest in Norfolk. Further substantial red deer herds originated from escapes or deliberate releases in the New Forest, the Peak District, Suffolk, Lancashire, Brecon Beacons, and North Yorkshire, as well as many other smaller populations scattered throughout England and Wales, and they are all generally increasing in numbers and range. A census of deer populations in 2007 and again in 2011 coordinated by the British Deer Society records the red deer as having continued to expand their range in England and Wales since 2000, with expansion most notable in the Midlands and East Anglia.

De sobte, un fugir d'ales, ànecs i agrons, i de cop es llença una ombra bruna sobre un d'ells. Un astor (accipiter gentilis) ataca un martinet blanc (egretta garzetta). Tot va anar tan rapid que no recordo els detalls, però les imatges si mostren el resultat. L'astor deuria agafar pel coll el martinet en plè vol i segurament li esventrà la gola amb urpes i bec. El martinet va caure a l'aigua i l'astor, regirant-se sobre si mateix en un instant, es girà per a rematar-lo. Un cop a sobre seu, l'ofegà dins l'aigua. Tota aquesta tragedia passà en pocs segons (això si, l'astor s'assegurà que la víctima estigués uns quants minuts sota l'aigua). Natura crua i sense pietat davant dels ulls! Aquí podeu veure dons instants del moment en que l'astor es girà per rematar el martinet mentre aquest intentava veure què havia passat. Segurament ja era ferit de mort.
Fixeu-vos en la mirada angoixada i sorpresa del martinet, amb sang al coll i al bec, i alhora en la mirada freda del astor, girant-se per calcular la distancia i posició de la víctima. Em meravella també poguer observar com l'astor empra l'àlula dreta per tancar el gir sobre sí mateix.

Like a lightning, all is chaos in the marshlands. All birds fly away, a little egret (egretta garzetta) among them. But up from above attacks a northern goshawk (accipiter gentilis). I can't remember the details, all was so swift, but the images give us the clues. The egret was hit by the goshawk mid-flight, with claws or beak, in the neck. Then it plumeted to the marsh; the attacker made a sharp u-turn while mantaining visual contact with its prey, and then closed in for the kill. With its claws the goshawk submerged the bloodied egret in the water till it drawn, and then proceded to eat.

Look at the glacial stare of the attacker, calculating the exact position of its prize, and how uses the right wing alula to turn sharply.

Just back from trip in northern part of Thailand and miss all my dear flickr friends. I'll catch up very soon.:)
The above photo is the waterfall we visit during the trip. This waterfall has a lot of water spray from the fallen water which sometimes we can see the rainbow. We're lucky this time for the rainbow and a lot of fun to take shots here. I have to cover the camera with my hat open the hat, taking shots, wipe the lens and repeat again.:) After finish taking shots here both the camera and me are soaking wet. I'm glad the camera still work properly. The place is in Chiang Mai, Thailand.:)

Fynn looks quite serious here but he was only sleepy. He had positioned himself on some flowers because for whatever reason he loves to take a nap there (see photo in the comments). It's a daily ritual and the flowers have given up in the meantime. They remain on the floor, ready to serve as Fynn's pillow at any time. :)

Bis Januar 2011 legte das Schiff laut offizieller Statistik 741.106 Seemeilen zurück. Dabei wurden bei 439 Hafenbesuchen 180 verschiedene Häfen angelaufen und über 60 Hoheitsgebiete auf allen Kontinenten besucht.
