White cotton swiss dot gown inspired by en chemise, from a portrait of the queen Marie Antoinetee in a "muslin" dress. In her later years was the abandonment of heavy make-up and the popular wide-hooped panniers for a more simple feminine look, typified first by the rustic robe à la polonaise and later by the simple muslin dress she wore in a 1783 Vigée-Le Brun portrait.

Midnight Moment: Jason Akira Somma, Times_Square_Analog_Portrait

Jason Akira Somma is a filmmaker and choreographer who investigates how we experience, process, and participate in the cultural systems that surround us. Times_Square_Analog_Portrait is a conceptual portrait of one of the most distinctive aspects of the neighborhood: the spectacular electronic billboards that display advertisements — and the Midnight Moment program itself. The work is part of Somma’s series of institutional portraits designed to reflect the environment of the presenting institution or platform. Somma created Times_Square_Analog_Portrait from footage of the electronic billboards, video feedback enlivened with hand-operated camera movements, and signal manipulation using electromagnetic and light frequency information he recorded in Times Square on custom analog devices.
I thought I'd do something a little different this round.
Photoshop: Dropped out the background.
Illustrator: Vector foilages & gradient
Lighting: SB600 in a gold-silver umbrella on my right, daylight softbox on my left. 420EX snooted right behind me for head and shoulder highlights.
Triggered with a cable release to delay since the interference knocks out radio (go figure)

A local farmer quite often puts up displays when theres some event or another all made from straw bales as the main structure, hes even got her waving this time
