A whole bunch, the fragrance sweeps though our home.

Muguet are an erect low-growing perennial herb of the genus Convallaria (C. majalis) that has two large oblong lanceolate leaves and a raceme of fragrant nodding bell-shaped white flowers.

I England it is not celebrated like it is on the continent, but I keep the traditions that I grew up with alive, LOL.

In the studio... where I photographed them for you and me, to enjoy.

Thank you and have a lovely day, M, (*_*)

The White Poppies are not created to insult those who have created red poppies as wreaths in memory of their lost loved ones during war.

Instead it is to emphasise that war should be avoided so that there will be no more wasted lives.

The White Poppies are important flowers that remind people about the beauty of peace - while the Red Poppies remind people of the cost of war.

The Co-operative Women’s Guild was the first one to sell the artificial White Poppies in 1933.

The artificial form of the poppy flower were sold by groups of women who have lost fathers, husbands, brothers and even children during the war and desire that no further bloodshed prevail.

Since then, the White Poppies were popular during Remembrance Day especially for the “No More War Movement”.

#AbFav_January

After the indulgence in the festive season, often one of the 'resolutions' is diet and exercise in January, LOL.

Many here are off to the Gym, apparently jumping with skipping ropes is good for you.

Nylon skipping rope, with bright shiny handles... it reminded me of when I was a little girl, then I saw THIS image... and then another, and another... the usual...

Thank you and have a fabulous day, M, (*_*)

. . .

my Photographs will always be inadequate if there are no “Adequate” understanding behind them

and... maybe words are inadequate to describe human expressions !

No matter how I “Word” something or do my best to describe it.... the words will never do justice to the actual experience or the message

I need to convey through my photographs.

I feel privileged, that my “Viewers” never fail to understand the message beneath the photograph, despite my inadequate Words !

Thank You for being with me and thank you for your “Adequate” Words..... Arman.

RED AND WHITE… Do opposites attract?

Well I find them definitely attractive!

Iceland Poppies.

Papaver nudicaule , the Iceland poppy, is a boreal flowering plant.

Native to sub-polar regions of Europe, Asia and North America, and the mountains of Central Asia (but not in Iceland).

A boreal ecosystem is an ecosystem with a subarctic climate in the Northern Hemisphere.

Iceland poppies are hardy but short-lived perennials, often grown as biennials, that yield large, papery, bowl-shaped, lightly fragrant flowers supported by hairy, curved stems.

They were first described by botanists in 1759. The wild species blooms in white or yellow.

All parts of this plant are likely to be poisonous, containing (like all poppies) toxic alkaloids.

Anthuriums are a fun flower and never fail to provoke a smile.

They look almost unreal!

The flowers are thick, shiny, ribbed and wrinkled, while the leaves are large and glossy, thus very 'reflective', which makes them so much more difficult to photograph well! Yes I do love a challenge!

The flowers are hermaphrodite, containing male and female flowers.

Quite a whimsical flower.

Yet I do love a challenge!

They belong to the Araceae family, which also includes callas and philodendrons.

Their genus name, Anthurium, comes from the Greek words anthos meaning "flower," and oura, meaning "tail."

Anthurium can also be called "Flamingo Flower" or "Boy Flower", both referring to the structure of the spathe and spadix.

Thank you for your comments and time, M, (*_*)
