The Palace Casino and Carousel House are part of the Asbury Park Boardwalk, circa 1929 by Architect Warren and Wetmore.
The 1920s saw a dramatic change in the boardwalk with the construction of the Paramount Theatre and Convention Hall complex, the Casino Arena and Carousel House, and two handsome red-brick pavilions. Beaux Arts Architect Warren Whitney of New York was the designer. He had also been hired to design the imposing Berkeley-Carteret Hotel positioned diagonally across from the theater and hall. At the same time, Asbury Park launched a first-class education and athletic program with the construction of a state-of-the-art high school overlooking Deal Lake.
In 2007, the eastern portion of the Casino building was demolished. There are plans to rebuild this portion to look much like the original; however, the interior will be dramatically different and may include a public market (as opposed to previously being an arena and skating rink).

This is the smallest of the four Arkansas mascots: Porkchop, number 1/2. Exuberant and a real crowd pleaser, Porkchop can often be found dragging a toy of the other mascot on a leash.
I've been fascinated with a microwave tower in downtown Augusta since I was a kid. Now i live next to it and stare at it every night... much like i did when i was a kid.

I drive by this construction zone everyday and I wonder what does this mean. I finally was stopped at the light with the sign perfectly positioned out my windo and I took the opportunity to take the photo with the only camera I had on me, the Lomography Konstruktor

(for the cornbread-I used left over bacon grease to prep the iron pan and about 1/4 cup of the bacon grease used instead of the 1/4 cup oil-in the batter mix)
Ich trinke mein Pilsner und esse meine Schwein Kotolett. Es war sehr gut! Attending a great performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony the night before had me feeling rather German and re-reading the words of Schiller's poem "An die Freud" reinforced that feeling. Besides, Texas country cooking has roots in Mexican, Native American, German, French (via Louisiana and Quebec), and other places. What we call a pork chop is also known as ein Schwein Kotolett. Good eatin'!
I decided that squash would go well with my little piggies. Naturally I had to include a Gemischtersalat. The carrots are a continuing experiment to duplicate Kathy's Honey Glazed Carrots invented by my grandmother and sister over 50 years ago. I plan to fix some and take them to one of Leslie Anne's dinners in the future. With all these dishes in progress, I opted for some simple Rice a Roni instead of oven fried potatoes.

Bond Street Bar & Grill is an unassuming little place that gets it right. A good selection of beers, and the usual lineup of cocktails. A simple bar menu, anchored by an interesting variety of burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches, is rounded out by a vegan bean salad. Food is served in baskets and is cheaper than almost anywhere else. It's also a lot better than you'd expect. This little bar serves up a game that many bigger and fancier places only advertise. The staff is solid, and in the tradition of great bars, they are part of the show. Oh, and this place has cheap prices! ~ by Yelpster J.B. Summerville, SC.

In this closeup photo, you can see Kathy's Honey Glazed Carrots, some Rice a Roni, about half a broiled pork chop, and some broiled yellow squash. I tested a couple of bites of pork chop in between photos before turning off my camera and digging in for some serious eating.

Pork chop in a port demiglaze, mashed potatoes, mango chutney, and that green stuff is a broccoli purée with a lot of nutmeg. Yum. Front Porch in Seminole Heights.
Lunch at Bro's Cajun Cuisine in Nashville, Tennesee. What we have here is a stuffed, smoked and grilled porkchop, filled with andouille sausage, served over jambalaya, with sides of turnip greens, squash, and cornbread. With just enough cayenne pepper to stir up the tastebuds

D.I.Y "porkchops" & "peaches" confetti...
All of our weddding guests (which included just 78 of our closest friends and immediate family) know that Ian and I have never call eachother by our actual 'real' names... I call him "Porkchops" and he calls me "Peaches" (don't ask, it's a long story...ha). Since Porkchops & Peaches have become somewhat infamous pet names to those that know us (Ian even has the word "Porkchops" tattooed accross the back of his arm in fancy script!), and have very special meaning to the two of us, I knew that I had to find a way to tie them in to the wedding details somehow.
After scouring the earth for a 'porkchop' shaped paper punch (which trust me, does not exist), Iwe used a little pig punch instead and cut the little pig shapes out of pale pink cardstock. There are no paper punches of 'peaches' either, so I ended up finding an apple punch that could pass for a peach and used peach colored paper to help get the look I was going for even more. Since our wedding ceremony was all frothy whites, creams, neutrals and super pale, washed out pastels, I wanted there to be this explosion of color as Ian and I made our way back up the aisle as husband and wife, so I made sure that each of our guests had at least 2 BIG handfuls worth of confetti (about 100 punches per person (you do the math!). I found these adorable muslin pouches from an organic tea shop online, and printed these cute little tags that I made in Photoshop on to white cardstock; then looped them onto the drawstring of each baggie. Lastly, we placed each confetti filled pouch on top of a ceremony program and had them waiting on every guest's chair as they arrived at the ceremony
