Whats a man do after spending 3 years in Bagdad?... Get a strawberry Popcycle for steelcity POPS in Fort Worth!
My brother in law just got back from 2 1/2 years in Bagdad. He is home for good now.
His family is reflected in his eye :)
At first during the snowstorm on October 13, 2018, the wet snow stuck to trees, lawns; roofs and odjects like cars but melted from the sidewalks and roads. In downtown Cody on 12th street I saw this motorcycle covered in snow while the street and sidewalk remained mostly clear.
Do you know what they call a Harley covered in snow? A pop cycle!
Yea, go ahead and groan. My kids call that a dad joke!
Today I bought the Barbra Streisand "My Passion for Design", which I've wanted ever since I saw it come out on the selfs, around December. Apparently she has taken the photographs in this book.. and its a private tour of her latest home... I can't wait to read it.........but seriously.......who do I think I am??
I also stopped for paint, because I think the flickr office is going to be tooo yellow, but thankfully I had a big discussion with the paint service lady and we decieded I should try a different lightbulb - sort of a lightbulb moment...and saves me a lot of effort. We shall see. The problem is that I love love love the yellow in the daylight, but hate it at night with the artifical light.......hopefully this pure white bulb will make a big enough difference.
Then I had big chats with Linda on the phone and will be picking up her mail while she is gone.
its cold out there and not much fun. I made a little bridge out of popcycle sticks for We're Here and thats about all the fun I could squeeze into today. Long weekend coming up and I have the urge to make an upside down pineaple cake........but trying to hold off till its closer to Easter, I might have to give in sooner though...cause I want it bad!
anyhow.........I hope you had a great day. I'll be spending the night with Barbra.......and flickr of course!!
later flickr people. have a great weekend.
Manipulated Polaroid SX-70 print of a TV set and a Ninja punching bag in a room with a 1960s era carpet.
This was my first attempt at Polaroid print manipulation. I pushed the surface/emulsion of the print with a wooden popcycle stick just after exposure while the emulsion was still wet. I quickly realized how this technique could be used for future design and photography projects and added it to my imaging tool kit.
Okay, "...I am starting a series that involves all of my family members, and i ask them what is their most valuable possesion that fits in their two hands"
this is my grandpa's and his most valuable possession was his children, so these are their hands, from left to right, my daddy, my aunt jamie, and my taunt
they are also from youngest to oldest
each of these three will be featured also
i like this series, because my family is participating and that's nice to know that they really want to and like helping me
taking this was so funny.

I got the idea from Txpilot on his small light orb tool and wanted some like it in my clockwork orange project so I made this its painted black now but i took apart a hand held light toy that makes light circles i picked up from Micheles craft store for $5 be because it had a moter that when you press the switch the lights would turn on and off with the moter. I made the frame out of popcycle sticks. removed the LEDs from the orignal so i can add my own. If you notice the brass fitting at the end of the white plastic the is the contact for the positive side of The Leds were a spring rides on that brass piece that is conected to the positive lead of the battery the moter case and shaft acts as the negative side. I installed a varible resister to the positive side of the moter to controll the speed. I know it looks crude but but it works
I'm not exactly sure what I am doing wrong here. I'm keeping the film cool before use, keeping it dark and cool while developing, keeping the dial all the way to dark while shooting as directed by TIP, yet I still can't get a good outdoor photo. I am open for suggestions.

It had been days since I had done anything really stupid silly, so I thought why not a screen saver made of popcicle sticks? This is a scan, not a photograph, but it has plenty of resolution. Be the first in your neighborhood to have a popcicle screen saver.

I love seeing the 5th grade projects on display at my school every year. I remember doing these whe I was in school and the fact that kids are still making log cabins out of popcycle sticks and things around Lincoln's birthday makes me think that the world isn't going to Hell in a handbasket after all. I really enjoyed this one that was made from pretzels.
yes, I got my candy apples made, and decieded to wear my kid friendly costume. We didn't get many kids come to door, as usual...but we had a funny joke going. I had bought these paper nakins that look like 100 dollar bills...so we'd say to the kids ...." Want money instead" ahahah.......it was really cute to see on girl trick her mother, for a second. haha. another kid came to the door and said..."wow! musician's live here".......ha. One kid was being driven around by his father on a moped......... that was cute.
anyhow....( side note - these are the dollar store thingys Im useing for more privacy in the kitchen window.....works for me! My candy apples have really improved..I now use candy sticks instead of popcycle sticks and cute plastic bags...........this year anyhow. yum....
