A historic US public swimming pool located in Coral Gables, Florida. The pool was created from an old abandoned coral rock quarry and was opened in 1924. In 1981 the pool was added to the National Register of Historic Places of the US.
This is something I always love to see in the spring. I'm not sure the species here, but judging from the egg mass in the background, I'm leaning towards spotted salamanders. (Spotted salamander egg masses are often covered in green algae. The other candidate would be a species called Jefferson's salamander.) The embryos can be seen along with wood frog tadpoles feeding nearby. One day I'll do a macro of one of these in a controlled macro setting.
The tidal pools at Haystack. I try to be as careful as I can when walking around this eco system, making sure not to touch the rocks or place my tripod near any living creature. Then to look around at all the people climbing on the rocks, taking sea creatures and putting them in bags.. uhg.. makes me want to hurt someone.
After so many weeks of bad, smokey, ashy air, I chose to edit this image to help daydream about swimming pools and fresh, clean water and fresh air. Enjoy!

Another view from the Upper Terraces @ Mammoth Hot Springs - Yellowstone National Park. Fascinating place to visit - all the different colors & textures from the hydrothermal features are quite stunning.
