This pool is the jewel of Railay Bay Resort where we spent 6 glorious days of our holiday in Krabi, south Thailand.

During the day, soak up the warm Mediterranean sun, sipping a cool glass of white wine from the pool bar and marvelling at the sparkling Aegean Sea 300 meters below.

The pool was originally a saltwater pool and the pool house had bilateral symmetry with one side for men and one for women. The pool overlooks Surfrider's Beach in Malibu.

When we hired a landscape designer to come up with a plan for our pool and backyard, he advised us to take down more trees. We resisted the ideas and said, "We like the trees. We on't mind the mess that they make." Well, 10 years later we do mind. To reduce the maintenance of the pool and the deck around it we are taking down more trees and are quite happy about it.
