Pool Frog (Pelophylax lessonae)
Britain' rarest Frog.
Last population disappeared here in 1993. 2015 a reintroduction programme allowed the species to return to the common Taken from a Swedish population. Pleased to see this individual today after my visits over last few years drawing a blank.
The soil from the pool excavation was used to form this beautifully landscaped berm with hides a parking lot!
Isolated due to COVID-19, a pool party with the dogue, as a poor substitute for previously scheduled trip to the beach.
The pool at the boarded up modernist motel at the North Shore Marina, the Salton Sea. This structure was razed in 2007.
Shot in 2001. Night, 8 minutes at f5.6, outdated 160T film. Full moon, ambient light only.
