This gorgeous, turquoise blue alpine pool is called Tamolitch pool. It is the headwaters of the McKenzie River in Oregon. We hiked in during the afternoon through a forest that looked like it could be on Endor, hung our hammocks next to this pool and ate lunch as we watched the late afternoon sun play on the water, and then hiked out. An amazing day, one I will remember for a long time.
Ref. 997: By the 10x4m pool there is plenty of room to sunbathe or relax. Coconut palms, a gazebo, the outdoor shower in the middle of a little bamboo grove as well as a fish pond with the most beautiful water lilies and waterfall complete this area.

This small "pool" is at the bottom of Skyline trail. With almost 25 km of this trail hiked above treeline, the Skyline is Jasper’s highest and possibly most scenic trail. The high elevation allows for amazing views that extend over much of the park. Crossing three mountain passes, the Skyline trail offers a variety of flora, fauna and scenery unique to Jasper National Park.

Thompson Common, Brecks, Norfolk.
Pool Frog (Pelophylax lessonae)
Britain' rarest Frog.
Last population disappeared here in 1993. 2015 a reintroduction programme allowed the species to return to the common Taken from a Swedish population. Pleased to see this individual today after my visits over last few years drawing a blank.
