The Manor Wischlingen is located in the western district of Dortmund, Huckarde.
From the former knighthood Wischlingen, which had to be broken up in 1903 due to dilapidation, until today only the half-timbered chapel built in 1783 is preserved. Its foundations date back to a predecessor building built around the year 1400. The first Protestant service on Westphalian soil was celebrated here. The chapel was built as a half-timbered hall with roof rider and polygonal choir. After an initial repair in 1951, the chapel was restored in 1974 and 1975 and integrated into the Wischlingen park. In the chapel there is a wooden pulpit altar and burial plates of the families of Syberg and Sydow from the 17th and 18th. Century.
The house Wischlingen is listed as a monument, the Protestant chapel, the only sacred half-timbered building in Dortmund, as a monument in the monument list of the city of Dortmund.

The Halema'Uma'U crater as seen from the Jaggar Lookout at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. This was taken in late April, just before the eruption on the Big Island. The park ranger told me that the crater was the most active it had been in two years that evening.
This one might be a bit tricky to describe.
I was standing next to the Polygon Theatre, which is the zigzag structure to the left. I noticed that the Observatory highrise in the distance looked like it was standing on the edge of the building just behind the gallery building. The theatre and Observatory are actually 400 metres apart (1/4 mile).
So this is what I planned for, except for one thing. I had been shooting in camera multiple exposures with three images. The sun was bright and I couldn't see my LCD screen very well. I thought I was turning off my multiple exposures, but instead I changed it from 3 images to 2. So this ended up being an in camera double exposure. But in the end, I was quite happy with it anyway....

The high altar was created around 1762 by Andreas Krüger in the Baroque style. With its monumental size, it separates the polygon from the rest of the choir so that it can be used as a sacristy. The altar is decorated with three paintings by Bernhard Rode framed by composite columns.

Triangle vs circle. While the kids are playing we adults get also to play. But I seriously doubt that my daughter was thinking about polygons in this case. :)

I could not get a ventral shot. I will post one later if I get one.

A view of the romanesque bell-tower of the former cathedral of St. Lizier. This style of tower is quite usual in the Garonne basin.
Saint Lizier (Sent LÃser in occitan) is nice old village above the Salat river. It has the really unusual detail of having TWO former cathedrals. I can't really understand what happened, but it seems that in the middle ages it was the seat of a bishop, but with two cathedrals, and all was abolished during the French Revolution. The other (former) cathedral is known as N. D. de-la-Sède.
Much different from the ventral view on my first post.

Photographed while wandering with coolpeeks. The Polygon Gallery, Lower Lonsdale, North Vancouver. May 7, 2022.
This was taken with a 40 year old Canon FD lens (with a E to FD Mount): 50mm f/1.8. There is a lot of dust in the lens which only appears with a very small aperture around f/22.

The Gray Comma is found from Alaska to Newfoundland in the north, south in the Appalahian Mountains to North Carolina, and from Kansas west to Wyoming and Colorado. In Alberta, the Gray Comma occurs throughout forested regions and is usually associated with mixed wood forests. They are sighted frequently along roads and in clearings. (Alberta Butterflies)

Recently, I participated in the Macphun architecture photography contest and submitted this and another picture, which where both showcased on their homepage, but unfortunately I didn't win anything. Some of you might know this picture since I already uploaded it, but for the contest I did a slightly less extreme edit and hence I decided to reupload it. Hope you like it!
PS: Sorry for my absence the last weeks, but since people know that I'm singing and playing the guitar I had a lot to do with practicing songs and singing them at christmas concerts :) Hope that I'll find more time for photography soon.
The Parish Church of Saint Andrew
On the fen edge a few miles south of Sleaford the village of Scredington has a pleasant rural charm. The parish church is dedicated to St Andrew and was rebuilt in 1869 using many parts from the origial medieval church, has a polygonal south-west turret with a tall needle spire.
On a back road just outside the village can be found a medieval packhouse bridge.
The village was also served by its own railway station on the Sleaford to Bourne line. The station opened to passenger traffic on 2nd January 1873. The station closed on 22nd February 1930 and the line was finally closed in 1965.
A quick Lensbaby still-life photo taken in my living room with a porcelain tea cup and saucer sitting on a wooden Ethan Allen polygon-shaped end table with some books and a lamp. The window in the back has wooden shades and a thin blue decorator curtain that add some natural light effects to the image.
