Brussels, officially the Brussels Region or Brussels-Capital Region, is the capital of Belgium and the de facto capital of the European Union (EU). Although historically Dutch-speaking, Brussels became increasingly French-speaking over the 19th and 20th centuries. Today a majority of inhabitants are native French-speakers, and both languages have official status.[14] Linguistic tensions remain, and the language laws of the municipalities surrounding Brussels are an issue of considerable controversy in Belgium.

In keeping with our free-of-charge theme, six years ago I took FREE Hindi language classes at the Old Apex #kingdomhall. This is one of two in Cary. That was very special to me because I’ve always wanted to communicate with as many people as possible. So I took French in school and when the chance came to learn Hindi I was ready. I wanted to speak to those in the Hindi-speaking community and I got to meet a lot of hospitable people in the Morrisville area. I love that this area has so many different language groups and we get to meet people we otherwise couldn’t.
