Most of Denali National Park is closed to cars. If you want to travel into the park, you pay to ride a park bus along the one access road ... which I far prefer to the Yellowstone option of waiting in private car traffic jam. I wish they would do this in every national park.
The bus stopped at a rest area 40 miles in at Polychrome Pass. We left the bus here and spent a few hours in the backcountry, seeing some of the most beautiful mountains I've ever seen.
There is, theoretically, a glacier at the far end of this valley.

This mosaic, part of a larger floor mosaic, features a complex composition of sinus waves that follow one another, opposite and contiguous, held together by a knot, while the gaps between the curved lines are filled with floral motifs. The composition is closed at the bottom by a frame made up of a braid and a band crossed by a continuous wave motif achieves a particularly refined chromatic effect, thanks to the choice of colours in pastel shades.

We climbed this little bump first, then climbed the higher peak next to it. We eventually topped out around 4500 feet.
