(Wednesday, 31 March 2010) The fog lifted and the clouds parted this afternoon, so brought along my Polaroid Square Shooter 2 while I ran errands. It was the perfect opportunity to get another shot of the Di Rienzo Brothers truck.

My first punk-rock identity was as straight edge around the age of thirteen. I kept my edge until I was twenty-three. To this day I have never, ever done drugs, but that said, I would still like to see pot-trains rolling through Skagit County! It is funny to me to think that people now complain about the odor of coal and diesel... just think about the stench of that sticky-icky rolling by!

Film: Fujifilm FP100-C
Camera: Polaroid Land Camera Automatic 100
It was tricky finding the right place to stand for this one: I wanted to "fill the frame" as much as possible, but also make sure I was well out of the way of her cantering round. I’ve been playing with a Polaroid Land Camera a friend gave me. I don’t know if the film is bad, or maybe it’s not the correct film for the camera, or maybe the camera’s light meter is wonky (it does seem to understand that the shutter needs to stay open longer in low light, so that’s a start), or maybe the camera is just possessed by evil spirits. I’m not getting anything like decent–and my criteria for decent is low!–photos from it. They’re fun, though, because you never know what the camera is going to spit out.
