normally it's much cooler in February- averaging somewhere in the 40s-50s by day. Today it was 79 degrees and felt so summery that Chad put the baby pool up out back.

I have manged to build bellows from house curtain material. But It is too thick and slightly hard to close and open. But It did job good! Next one will be better for sure.

I think it looks pretty goo ha~!

"family heirlooms", and with me being the photographer, as well as the only to show interest, they came to me. took a while to find them, but they both seem to work, and I've ordered some Impossible Project film to try them out. this was a prelude to some product shots I have lined up using the light tent.

Beirut has been the perfect compliment for scanning all of my shots from yesterday~~

Inspired by all of the gorgeous, older photographs and double exposures i've been finding recently.

This photo is a prelude to mine, Anna's and Nic's horror movie-esque night at the local cemetery. I've been to some truly impressive cemeteries in D.C. but never have I been to one so still and beautiful. I wouldn't, however, recommend breaking into it later that night for more photographs. It might end in seeing swift, spooky shadows, ripped pants, tar covered fingers, and a disappointingly unexposed photograph. And possibly some ambiguous screams.

Polaroid Land Camera - Model 100

Christmas gift for my brother.

An exact replacement for his Realistic Chronomatic 230 which fell and broke a couple of years ago.

In 1982 we both got matching clock radios for Christmas from my grandparents. They were definitely trying to teach us to be responsible, wake up on our own, and quit being such a burden to our Mom. "Grow up, kids!", was the message.

It's crazy to be so sentimental for a clock radio, but it's woken me up for almost 30 years now: through grade school, high school, college, from Illinois to Arizona. Every house I ever lived in, all of my important days started with this clock radio waking me up. And for most of the past three decades, Jim had its twin in Chicago: same sounds, same snooze button, same dials. It meant alot to me that we still had the same radio.

About a year and a half ago, his fell and broke, while propped up on a bathroom towel rack.

Ever since then I have been trying to track down the same exact model, the Chronomatic 230. Finally I found it. Here is Jim's replacement radio, found on eBay after nearly 2 years of searching, posing with mine (below), before I box it up to ship to Chicago.

It's in really good shape! Better than mine! Chad joked, "You should send him yours and keep this one!" (I didn't).

The card inside includes this photo and these words: "Even though we don't live in the same time zone anymore, I thought it would be nice to keep time together again."

I hope he likes it. I also addressed it to "Jimmie", like my Grandma always did. We always thought that was funny, and it's a hint that the gift is somehow related to Gram and Gramps.

Instant Camera walk

Flickrmeetup teamed up with Photobooth SF for a fun photo walk using impossible film and polaroid cameras. My 'pulling' technique needs a lot of work. I need more muscle it seems for a smooth photo. But I am happy for a 'first time'. Great experience and loved having a photo to hold almost immediately.

Mom: You were still dressed for summer, so I bet this was grandpa's birthday, and they were taking us out to eat.

The day after Lou's birthday we were lounging around on the sofa, watching too much bad TV nursing our hangovers.

I got the Land Camera out & shot Marty & Lou & boosted the light with a bit of off-camera strobe action.

Rented the 7b setup my local pro shop and thought I'd try with my Mamiya. It works, and even though the viewing lens looks slightly obscured by the flash bracket, it looks fine through the viewfinder.

All in all, a neat setup that i will try in the future with my Rolleiflex. This and the following image taken with a Polaroid 250 with Polacolor 690.
