The cantina on the distant corner was open, with comforting cool musty smelling air wafting out onto the sidewalk.

One of the last plants we were waiting on to ripen were the many tomato plants. We have several kind of heirloom and romas. The tomato shown above is an heirloom that's become gigantic.

After much waiting and checking, our first watermelon is finally ripe! There are many ways to check if one is truly ripe. It may be flicked in hopes of hearing a hollow sound, or plugged. To plug a watermelon, a chunk is cut out of the melon while still on the vine. If the flesh has that beautiful color then it is ready, but if not, the plug may be simply placed back in and it will continue to grow.
Quick and dirty scan. Still, having acquired some PX70, and fired off a few shots, it turns out I really rather like it.

I'm behind uploading for my 100 Strangers Project. I met Skylar in June at Chicago's Blues Fest in Grant Park. I was hanging out with my friend Pete and we both were carrying our Polaroid Land cameras around. We met Skylar, we started talking and I asked him to be a part of my project. He's a student at Columbia University and was out enjoying the music and great weather as we were that day. This is my first 100 Stranger shot with my Polaroid! I thought I'd mix it up a little!
Thank you, Skylar, for agreeing to be number 28 in my 100 Strangers Project. It was a pleasure to meet you!

First time out with my new Polaroid 250 Land camera. These are scans of the prints. The next thing for me to learn is how to bleach the negative so that I can scan those. My focus also needs to be adjusted, so I'll be playing around with that over the next couple of weeks.
I had a great day yesterday going to Lit Fest, then Blues Fest. The weather was absolutely fantastic. I hope you all had a great weekend and that your week ahead so smoothly and brings much joy!
Now that Simon is halfway through his vaccinations we can take him on some little adventures outside of the yard.

The now closed Sahara Hotel & Casino is holding an "everything must go!" liquidation sale on the huge property. Everything from alarm clocks, kitchen ware, appliances, chandeliers....you name it- it's probably for sale.
The room phone you see in this Polaroid is one of the items I picked up on my visit. I also picked up two plastic Sahara glasses with their logo, a new bathroom trash bin with their logo, salt & pepper shakers with a holder, one luggage rack, a barely used office chair for the computer desk (found it in a back office near one of the huge kitchens hidden away up a few stairs) and finally a medium sized kitchen table from their buffet (rectangle/square shaped). Very happy with my finds!
I know what they're going for, the cute little needlepoint homily, "If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy." But leaving off the "if" makes this instead sound like dysfunctional, depressing family at a counseling session.

Here is The Temporary Cat's replacement. No, there's nothing wrong with Temp or anything, just that this is the new cat that has determined that my mother is a soft touch and moved in on her.
And no, I am NOT taking this one in. My current Feline Overlord would be displeased.

Standing from the top of Oriole Park at Camden Yards was something I hadn't done in years. A location I spent countless summers at as a kid had been just that, in the past. Visiting my girlfriend for the first time since school had let out came to be a weekend of excitement and surprise, mainly due to this surprise visit to watch the Orioles play. Though the Orioles fell to Cleveland by double digits it was still a great day trip and experience spent with the one person I wanted to spend it with the most.
This year I'm using a different film format each month, starting with the smallest and working my way up through the sizes. The format for November is Polaroid SX-70, which has a slightly larger image area than last month's 6x9cm 120 format.
This was taken with a Polaroid 1000 camera (known as Polaroid Onestep in the US), it uses SX-70 film, which is once more available, having been revived by The Impossible Project a few years ago.
This camera used to belong to my fathers and I thought it was the coolest camera in the world when I was a kid. It is still beautiful. My very first Polaroid Camera which now has been given away.
Don't need it since I now have purchased myself a SX-70 camera.

It's been a little over one month ago since we harvested our multiple rows of onions. Since then we've had onions spread out over a wire "rack" to allow them all to dry. To ensure preservation of the onions, we hung them up in old pantyhose without each touching the other by tying knots above each onion.
Summer 2011. Polaroid Land Camera. from a pile of old polaroids I finally decided to scan in. This was from the first roll of land camera film I ever experimented with.

During my hike in Rowland Heights, I came across abandoned structures and the ruins of some structures. This tree was among the ruins. Still beautiful.

Decided to take the back way home from Scranton so I could get a shot of this viaduct. Lighting was kind of tough (sun had set fifteen minutes prior), but thought this still turned out okay.
