The Savannah Cotton Exchange was completed in 1887 in order to provide a place to congregate for anyone in the cotton industry. During its initial opening Savannah was the leading cotton seaport in the US and second in the world.

POLAROID LAND CAMERA 360

FUJIFILM FP-100C

EXPIRY DATE: 2014-7

This is an advertisement for Polaroid's line of "Countdown" Land Cameras from the October 1970 issue of the National Geographic magazine.

During the late 1960s and early 70s, Polaroid started including high-end features in their Land Cameras including automatic exposure and built-in development timers.

The camera shown is the Polaroid 350 Land Camera, which featured not only automatic exposure, but also a built-in automatic electronic timer (hence the "Beep" in the ad) to let the user know when the picture had finished developing. This feature solved two main problems which owners of early 100-400 series Land Cameras often experienced: the picture being either too light or too dark due to the darken/lighten switch not being properly adjusted to the lighting conditions, or the print being ruined by unpeeling it before development was complete.

Pinhole of tulips. Photographed with a PPPF Camera (Polaroid Packfilm Pinhole Frankenstein Camera). This was a 16 minute exposure with a pinhole of 0.5. The focal length used was 155mm which calculates to f/517. The film is Fujifilm FP-100C. This is my contribution to Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day, April 29, 2018.

Today it was time to cut our m̶e̶a̶d̶o̶w̶ lawn, so I thought I'd use my last Fuji Instant print to take a picture of Abi with the lovely wild flowers before they got massacred.

Just experimenting... :)

Took this in -14 degrees celcius [before learning it's best developed in 17-24 celcius..]!

All of these shots were taken standing on a high speed road on a bridge. As a result they tend to lack accuracy because i was scared of getting run over.

...but I meddled with the sky in Picassa (graduated darkening levels) to emphasise that messy old, dull dank mood, because imo it was too flat and uninteresting in the original pola. (Which was my own stupid fault, because there was no light, it was indeed dull and dank for large parts of that afternoon and the Pola hates it when there is no light. Six months on, I seem to have stopped trying to mess with it's head so much....)

This particular scanned version is also filthy and with added Newton Rings, which adds to the decrepit (some might say sloppy) look of it I think.

Oh and, I do know that my stream has been a bit scrappy in recent weeks, but I'm clearing out some of the archive in lieu of sorting out my image/negs filing system. (As well as getting a whole heap of recent stuff developed and scanned, so that I can start afresh.) Thanks for bearing with me...

I had been planning and hoping to take these photos before my summer was up. I kept looking for chances to take these photos and after awhile they all fell into place. Each photo is now strung up by twine and clothes pins in my dorm room.

Impossible Film

Instant Camera walk

Flickrmeetup teamed up with Photobooth SF for a fun photo walk using impossible film and polaroid cameras. My 'pulling' technique needs a lot of work. I need more muscle it seems for a smooth photo. But I am happy for a 'first time'. Great experience and loved having a photo to hold almost immediately.

The first two days of our trip we spent almost entirely at Paris. There was an amazing restaurant, Mon Ami Gabi, that had authentic French cuisine and the best coffee.
