Another singles duplicate being used as filler in one of the latest Matchbox nine vehicle sets. A rather extreme track day car by Polaris which has a sense of uniqueness as I don't think its been modelled by anyone else. Mint and boxed.

1968 inert Polaris missile which was used for training at Faslane. These solid-fuel nuclear-tipped missiles were fired from submarines and were used by the US Navy and the Royal Navy, and tested by the Italian Marina Militare. The US Navy had scrapped Polaris by the early 1980s, although it continued to be used by the Royal Navy until the early 1990s until its replacement by the Trident programme.

Beaverhead County. The previous post office location in Polaris, pictured in 2011. The post office was located here from 1929 to 1985; the building had previously been located east of its present location (near the Polaris Mine) and had served as a boarding house and as the home of the mine superintendent. After the building was moved, it was utilized as a store (in addition to the post office) for many years. The Polaris post office was first opened in 1898 (March 17) with Mary Pierson as postmaster.

Winds blow from the bowels of hell

Will we give warning, only time will tell

Satan rears his ugly head,to spit into the wind

I spread disease like a dog

Discharge my payload a mile high

Rotten egg air of death wrestles your nostrils

Launch the Polaris, the end doesn't scare us

When will this cease

The warheads will all rust in peace

POLARIS A-3

The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) system of the U.S Navy includes both the nuclear-powered submarine and its missiles. Each of 16 Polaris A-3 missiles could be launched in as many minutes either while the sub was surfaced or submerged. A submarine's mobility provides both increased range and flexibility of target choices.

That's my brand new Exped Polaris tent staring out at Forbidden Peak. The next day, I'd be very satisfied as gusting winds blasted us with driving rain and hail during a lightning storm. We stayed dry and warm, 'nuff said.

Marquee for Polaris video game. (Taito, 1980)
