a swimming polar bear!

This is one of the 2 polar bears we have at the zoo, both of whom are females. While I have seen them in a playful mode, it's helpful to keep in mind that both the girls will be 35 later on this year so they've earned the right to rest as much as they pleased.

When people make comments about how awful zoos are to keep animals "locked up", they should take a gander, at least in our zoo, at the amazing longevity that our happy and healthy friends enjoy!
