The immeasurable pleasure that I gained from spending a day with this Polar Bear mum and her 4 month-old twin cubs is beyond mere words. Moving....... very moving!

It was such a thrill to finally see Willy the Polar Bear at the North Carolina Zoo last week! I got a personal introduction to Willy and a guided tour of the zoo by Valerie (ucumari), his favorite personal photographer and friend! He is a special Bear who has achieved well deserved recognition through Valerie's photos. He was relaxing on this visit, but is a master of play and connection to his visitors, as evidenced by Ucumari's photos! Rescued from a traveling circus, Willy has been given the chance to live his unique life surrounded by compassionate keepers and friends!
Today, February 27th is International Polar Bear Day. Every year, this global event draws attention to the challenges polar bears face in a warming Arctic—and how we each can help. Photo: Polar bear, Baffin Island. www.polarbearsinternational.org/our-work/international-po...
