What started out as pleasant and leisurely morning stroll in the garden, quickly developed into a perilous and risky outing. Brian soon found himself wishing he had accepted the invitation to go hang-gliding with his friends...

No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph. At no time did the snail come into contact with the sharp points of the barbed wire.

This image was taken a few weeks ago, during Autumn. While there was no colour in the sky, the mystical autumn mist created a wonderful atmosphere. I took a trip out to Horsell Common - literally a few minutes from home - and captured this scene. I dont count woodland photography as one of my strong points and have been out practicing over recent months. I think this is my best attempt yet!

There are many vantage points to photograph the Bombo Quarry pillars. The best that I have found requires climbing atop an adjacent structure to see the surf breaking over the rocks and creating waterfalls. Waves must be 4 metres or less otherwise you could get soaked up there. It helps to have a cloudy day as well otherwise there is too much contrast. One could easily spend a day there and enjoy the experience. This was on Sunday where the surf wasn't as extreme as Saturday.

All points west - An intense, but brief, burst of colour at sunset at Neist Point, looking out across the Minch.
Dramatic conditions thrown up by the ever changing typical Skye weather. Moments after this was taken, the headland and lighthouse were barely visible such was the ferocity of the downpour that came in across the Minch. Incredibly, barely a drop of rain hit me and the cloudburst passed me by, though it was blowing a real hooley at the time. It is these ever changing intense conditions that can result in the most dramatic of results.
Being one of the most westerly points in the UK, it’s a location that’s hard to beat as one of the best places to witness sunset, and really comes into its own when conditions are as spectacular as this.

It looks like she's just standing there, ignoring me, but in reality my daughter Mara (aka Mar) is standing in a gym, battling for prestige points for her Pokemon GO team, Yellow.
She's also ignoring me. :P
