This picture, through the windows of the Company Store, shows the dolomite cliffs on Lake Michigan, from which stone was used to construct the buildings of Fayette, Michigan.
Fayette, a restored "ghost town" in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, was a "company town" with furnaces to smelt iron from the local mines from 1867-1891,

Nata come cortile estremo del palazzo Sciarra Colonna di Carbognano, la galleria è composta da un vano centrale, ricco di partiture architettoniche e dipinto tra il 1885 e il 1888 da Giuseppe Cellini: la decorazione richiama l'ambiente della Cronaca bizantina ed è in stile liberty
Non-breeding Piping Plover was one of our target birds for the day. Found this little cutie right away. Just love watching them running about on the beach. Near threatened, but they are slowly increasing in population. Stone Harbor Point NJ.

We took a mid-morning walk today at the lake. I spotted this Golden Retriever just sitting in the water cooling off. I had to get down next to the water in the mud to get to his level. Well worth it. Peace Valley Park, New Britain PA.
