Not used for more than 60 years, the mainline coal tower on the CN Flint Sub that used to serve GTW mikados, pacifics, mountains, and the 4-8-4 streamlined passenger steamers, still stands tall. While its days are certainly not endangered as the demolition and cleanup would be too much of a hindrance on continuing to run mainline traffic, it is still worth the trip to see traffic, such as CN M371, pass under it just as the old steamers used to.

1. I love you Mommy & Papa, for devoting your lives to me.
2. Even when I was just another stranger to you, you were nice to me, without once judging me. I'll love you forever for that. Nobody else ever bothered.
3. If once, just once, I knew you miss me as much as I miss you, all this pain would become sweet.
4. Sometimes it's so bad I want to run till my lungs burst. I want to scream. I'm scared of life. I wish you knew. Maybe if you lived a day in my shoes you'd never look at me the same way again.
5. There's no need be under any misconception that people are jealous of you. I only feel sorry for you.

7. I wish you'd just tell me what you really think about me. That way atleast I'd know how much to care about you.
8. PLEASE stop to think of how you make us feel. You literally make people's lives hell. Just because you're a teacher doesn't mean you become inhumane.

I can't believe how many things I had to type once I got going.. I still have a billion things I wish I could say to people; but this tag really is so great. Venting it out here really made me feel so light. <3

It has been a long time since we had a look at the O'Dea Collection, today we have a very interesting shot of a mail train in Rathduff. I see a flying snail logo and the words snail and mail come to mind. I dont know about you but I would rather receive a nice letter through the post rather than 100 e-mails!

Holyrood park, Edinburgh, Scotland.
In Edinburgh's Holyrood Park, about 1 mile from Edinburgh Castle, the Radical road runs along the bottom of Salisbury Crags and gives panoramic views of the city and beyond.
This track was given its name after it was paved in the aftermath of the Radical War of 1820, using the labour of unemployed weavers from the west of Scotland at the suggestion of Walter Scott who had actively supported their repression.
I have no idea if they were paid for their labour or used as slaves, its very difficult to find that sort of detailed information about the repression of the working class without wading knee deep through pro-establishment propaganda.
To me, the 'Radical War' and similar 'uprisings' by the working class in England (and elsewhere) are at least as important to remember as those pointless slaughters of the First World War which we seem to be celebrating/commemorating endlessly because we can pretend it was a war between nations rather than a mass slaughter of angry young working class men to prevent them rebelling against their ruling class all over Europe.
There are no poppies for the leaders of working class uprisings who were rounded up and cruelly executed or for those who were slaughtered on the streets by the Hussars or for those who were rounded up and forced to be slaves in the colonies.

Or in layman's terms what are you looking at!! Revisiting an old friend that I had a number of captures of to fill in the gaps!! This is a young Tri-colored Heron with plumage that is in a bit of a transition!! He's losing the rusty red and white feathers for the slate blue feather of adulthood!! Photo was taken on Armand Bayou!! He was likely wondering just how close I was going to get and whether or not he was going to have to vacate his fishing perch!

With a cloud of dust in its wake, Amtrak train #1 is making every bit of track speed on UP's Houston Subdivision east of the Bayou City.
Just about 4 months later, AMTK 156 would be badly damaged after hitting an 18 wheeler in Lafayette, LA. The locomotive was towed to Amtrak's shops at Beech Grove, IN and has sat there ever since.

Unusual to see the tilting point carriers without the boom used to lift of the points at the work sites.
