The Point Wilson Lighthouse at Port Townsend, Washington.
This lighthouse was built in 1914, and has served as an active aid to mariners ever since. Its lantern room houses a Fourth Order Fresnel lens.
I used a KITE to fly the camera.
The successful preservation of Pleasure House Point, an undeveloped natural open space on the Lynnhaven River, was culminated with a ribbon cutting on October 12. Located just west of the Lesner Bridge and south of the Chesapeake Bay, Pleasure House Point Natural Area is 118 acres of water, tidal marsh, sandy shores and maritime forest. The shallow water estuarine environment of the property provides habitat for the iconic Chesapeake Bay blue crab and the Lynnhaven oyster.
This high-profile property was once being considered for a large waterfront development, but with the help of The Trust for Public Land, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and the surrounding community, the City of Virginia Beach has preserved one of the largest undeveloped parcels of land on the Lynnhaven River for generations to come.

Spectacle Point is on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), just above the Park Lakes area. On this particular hike I came up on the Mineral Creek Trail, and continued onto the PCT. Besides the fantastic scenery at this location I have vivid memories of the horrendous mosquitos. Like an idiot, I had forgotten my Jungle Juice. Lots of bites to scratch the following week :-( Scanned from a 4X5 Ektachrome transparency.

The grain elevator in Locust Point, Baltimore while being converted into condos (see also the pics I took before the conversion).
At South Point proper are a few dilapidated structures and foundation ruins. The Army had a barracks here during World War II; the paved road was built in 1955; during the sixties, the Navy built a missile tracking station which the Air Force later took over and renamed South Point Air Force Station, which closed in 1978. I’ve also learned that from 1830 to 1850 or thereabouts, Kaulana Bay was the site of a penal colony for men who were transported here from Lahaina, Maui.
