25-35mph 12+ winds. Everything was frozen or snow-crystalized. Truly beautiful.
The soft shell crab sandwich with fries. Quite reasonable for $14 which is less than you would pay at Sea Salt Eatery. The batter is extremely light--very fresh taste.

On my way back from the starting point of the Routeburn track on the South Island of NZ. I had to drop three friends off & then drive 6 1/2 hours around the mountains to pick them up on the other side. The downside of having a dodgy leg is missing out on things like a good hike.
The Point Wilson Lighthouse at Fort Worden near Port Townsend, Washington.
Built in 1913, its Fourth Order Fresnel lens, and its modern replacement, have aided mariners sailing in and out of the Puget Sound ever since.
Your ever humble photographer is standing near the lower-left of the lighthouse.
I used a KITE to fly the camera.
Dead Horse Point State Park is a state park of Utah in the United States, featuring a dramatic overlook of the Colorado River and Canyonlands National Park. The park is so named because of stories of ancient hunters, resting along the cliff tops while knapping chert in preparation for the next hunt, and cowboys of the late 1800’s, chasing wild mustangs onto Dead Horse Point, using the narrow neck to block off the natural corral
Today, grandson, Joshua, and I went to the Pt. Loma lighthouse and preserve. We had such a wonderful time, and enjoyed a picnic lunch while looking at and listening to the waves crash on the shore.
The Old Point Loma Lighthouse stood watch over the entrance to San Diego Bay for 36 years. At dusk on November 15, 1855, the light keeper climbed the winding stairs and lit the light for the first time. What seemed to be a good location 422 feet above sea level, however, had a serious flaw. Fog and low clouds often obscured the light. On March 23, 1891, the light was extinguished and the keeper moved to a new lighthouse location closer to the water at the tip of the Point.

Oneohtrix Point Never's richly complex audio landscapes demand attentive listening, but luckily give the listener no other choice than to be drawn in completely and experience the journey.A beautiful trip through intimate fields of sound filled with noise, synths, melodies, strange rhythms and beautiful vocal samples. Daniel Lopatin has proven himself a true craftsman in his field of ambient music by staying clear of the conventions and creating his own personal, very emotional sound. His new album 'R Plus Seven' will be released only a couple of days after his show at TodaysArt on Warp Records.
Point Lynas Lighthouse on a dull overcast day.
From Wikipedia, 'This unusual and distinctive lighthouse was designed by Jesse Hartley, engineer to the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board from 1824 to 1860, but with additions by G Lyster some twenty years later.
It is a castellated building comprising a two-storey dwelling surmounted by a square tower 11 metres (36 ft) high. The semicircular lantern is located at the base. The present lantern is 4.6 metres (15 ft) in diameter and dates from about 1874. The lantern has a cast-iron lower wall and rectangular glazing bars take the height to 3.7 metres (12 ft). The lantern is topped by a plain conical roof with a ball finial. The square tower above has a corbelled oriel window of the pilot's look-out.
The unusual arrangement of having the lantern at ground level with the look-out and telegraph room above is similar to the Great Orme Lighthouse, also built by the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board. The telegraph station was established in 1879, and two new cottages were erected to accommodate extra staff. Point Lynas has now been taken over by Trinity House.
A Chance occulting optic was fitted in the light room in 1878. This is 1.4 metres (4 ft 7 in) in diameter and displays a light through 206 degrees. The fixed part of the optic consists of three sections, the central unit on the focal plane has a 0.25 metres (9.8 in) deep curved lens with bands of six prisms above and below it. The bottom unit is made up of six bands of reflective prisms, while the inclined top unit contains sixteen.
The lamp is 1000W with an intensity of 112,000 candela and is white, occulting every 10 seconds, with a range of: 20 nautical miles (40 km).'
My starting point was ISO 100, Tv 200 and Av 9.0 this was then made through all the images in order for them to be consistent.
The position of the light was to the right and a couple of meters from the subject (Apple, not the computer) also not very far since the room was small but the distance enough to mount the umbrella.
I only changed the power of the strobe to match the correct exposure of the apple for those settings.
Here the 580Ex was set to 24mm and 1/8 but used through the umbrella.
